Managing a Conflict of Interest and Issues with Sean Dougherty page

Dear Jmertel23, I have used the UserboxCOI box to declare my potential conflict of interest with respect to organisations that I have directly worked with. You also made some points regarding the sources of the material for Sean Dougherty's page. The copyright for the paraphrased material is a Creative Commons 4.0 Attribution license, so it should be OK just by adding the reference. This all started because the ALMA page incorrectly stated that Pierre Cox was the director of ALMA, which is not since 2017. I now understand I should probably posted something in the Talk page for that article, but I'm not very used to the talk pages.

So, what should I do now, other than declaring the COI, and letting others fix the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Juandesant (talkcontribs) 14:43, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Juandesant:, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Sounds like you've done everything you need to - thank you! Jmertel23 (talk) 21:38, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Question

Aren't photos in Instagram & Facebook good enough as citations? Isn't that clear evidence the information added to a page is true and genuine? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidsmith2014 (talkcontribs) 19:41, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Davidsmith2014:, thanks for reaching out. Self-published sources, which include social media posts, are usually not considered to be reliable (though there certainly are some exceptions, of course). Similarly, social media posts are certainly not independent sources, which is key for showing neutrality and notability. I would suggest finding and adding additional sources that are written about Hadley Gamble that meet the general notability guidelines: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list." Essentially, the lack of sources meeting these criteria makes the article at risk for deletion. By adding independent, reliable, third-party sources that go in-depth about Gamble, you will ensure that the article remains as part of the encyclopedia. Hopefully that provides some clarity for you! Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks, Jmertel23 (talk) 21:36, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

It's Triple D

Yo! J.mertel23. I'm Triple D. I'm a musician, DJ, remixer and YouTuber. Where can I create my own article for free? If not Wikipedia, is there any other wikis that allows you to write your own biography, that's not the shit Everybody Wiki and Bios? I like Wikipedia, and I think that it is cool. I don't wanna do any edit warring. Have a cool day! I just wanna be recognized and become popular. I love Jimmy Wales (Wikipedia founder). He is my hero! Besides, I love your username! @[REDACTED - Oshwah] Hi Triple D, I don't know where you can create a free article, but Wikipedia is not the appropriate forum. Please see the conflict of interest, autobiography, and promotion policies. Jmertel23 (talk) 19:25, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Hi, Triple D again! How about Everybody Wiki & Bios? I heard that you can create a free biography about yourself. Have a good day bud! TripleXD (talk) 19:39, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
@TripleXD: I don't know. I've not heard of either. Good luck to you - Jmertel23 (talk) 19:43, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Thanks! See you around! TripleXD (talk) 19:47, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
