New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Jmcgnh/Archives/2018, thank you for your efforts in reviewing new pages!

The NPP backlog at the end of the drive with the number of unreviewed articles by creation date. Red is older than 90 days, orange is between 90 and 30 days old, and green is younger than 30 days.

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 3819 unreviewed articles, with a further 6660 unreviewed redirects.
  • We are very close to eliminating the backlog completely; please help by reviewing a few extra articles each day!

New Year Backlog Drive results:

  • We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
  • Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

Request on 13:10:15, 16 February 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by SSWalker

SSWalker (talk) 13:10, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

All extensive content that you Google and find on Holly Hogrobrooks has been written by me. I am a journalist and journalism professor. I have included links from other places where I have published work about her in the Wikipedia page. I'm not sure why I am receiving this notice since I have not officially submitted the document for review by Wikipedia editors. I have been navigating the HTML in Wikipedia and it has taken sometime. However, I am working expeditiously to complete this page and learn the Wikipedia markup system. There are many elements that I would like to include, like video, links to a historic website I created on her, photos and more. Instructions are not clear on how to use additional page elements. Thus, I'm providing context so that you do not recommend my page for deletion.

SSWalker: The draft about Holly Hogobrooks was deleted months ago because it was considered a copyright violation. The same text appeared at another website which claimed copyright. Your new sandbox draft at User:SSWalker/sandbox/Holly Hogrobrooks appears to have the same problem and will likely be deleted again.
If all in-depth coverage of Hogobrooks has been written by you, it may mean that she does not meet WP's notability criterion for inclusion. It also means that you should not be the one attempting to write the encyclopedia article about her. I'm sorry if this is disappointing news. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 17:53, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

My talk page

Hello, there! I saw the comment you left on my talk page about my request to not be templated. I just added to my talk page that I do not mind criticism, and I will kindly accept any disagreements that editors have with my edits. I do not find templates disrespectful to be honest, but I want to make sure others see that I'm a newbie here and that they may want to cut me some slack. Also, I do not like insults, but I added that I don't mind criticism because I do find them as friendly reminders, but I also want to remind them that I will not accept any negative comments. Editors are more than welcome to leave messages on my talk page, as long as they are respectful, and there are no insults or negativity. Please understand all that I wrote above. Either way, thanks for writing to me. Cheers to you! Coloradodude19 (talk) 00:44, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

@Coloradodude19: Sure, you've made your stance clear and know enough not to go into belligerent mode when someone inadvertently doesn't see your notices before they leave something on your page. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 01:12, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for understanding. Cheers! Coloradodude19 (talk) 23:30, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
