ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Jmax. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. A suggestion to join hands to rebuild WikiProject Squash

Hi, I recently noticed that you have been contributing related to squash related articles. So I am interested to ask you whether you would like to create more articles related to squash and your contributions will be crucial to uplift our WikiProject Squash and I recommend you to add your name in our WP Squash Participants list. Thanks for your valuable contributions and happy editing. I also noticed that you have been updating some templates including the Template:Top ten French female squash players. Tokiwa

Jmax, thank you for your good work on fr:Toyoko Tokiwa; but as I've tried to show in recent edits to the [English-language] article Toyoko Tokiwa (written mostly by me, and translated into French by LouisAlain), I now think we have better reason to say that she was born in 1928 as 常盤 トヨ子 than that she was born in 1930 as 常盤 刀洋子. (I also see claims in various databases that she was born in 1932, but none seems to present any evidence for this.)

(I could correct [?] the French-language article myself, but am reluctant to do so as over the years my French has sunk from "pretty bad" to "dreadful", and I hesitate to inflict it on your readers.) -- Hoary (talk) 07:16, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
