Autopatrolled user right edit

Hi I’ve patrolled many of your article creations and I know you consistently produce good, well-sourced articles. Have you though about applying to become wikipedia:Autopatrolled? It doesn’t make any difference to your editing but it means new articles you create go straight to search engine indexing and don’t need a patroller like me to review them. You can apply at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Autopatrolled. All the best Mccapra (talk) 05:48, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I had no idea this was possible and I will totally apply right now. Thank you! Jlalbion (talk) 08:59, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Creation of articles using AI edit

Hi,

Are you using ChatGPT or a similar program to assist in the creation of articles like Janet Love, Gassan Soloman, Themba Khoza, and Arrie van Rensburg? BilledMammal (talk) 11:24, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi! No, I'm just working quickly. Jlalbion (talk) 11:34, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I ask because you became considerably more prolific after ChatGPT was released, and because tools like zeroGPT suggest that there is significant AI generated content in your recent articles.
However, if you are not then I apologize for the question. However, you are engaged in sufficient levels and frequency of creation that WP:MASSCREATE applies; per that policy, you should get approval at WP:BRFA before creating any more. BilledMammal (talk) 12:08, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Interesting. I became more prolific after I scheduled my dissertation defence! I don't know what to tell you about zeroGPT, but have you tried reverse-engineering on chatGPT? I just asked it to write profiles of some of my recent subjects, and it came out with total nonsense.
Can you explain to me how I go about applying at WP:BRFA? It and WP:MASSCREATE seem to be geared towards automated or semi-automated processes, which mine is not (if I'm reading between the lines correctly you're suggesting I'm a WP:MEATBOT?). Do I put my own username in as "bot's username", and do I just estimate how many pages I intend to edit over how much time (am I applying for permission to edit over a specific period or at a specific frequency?)? Jlalbion (talk) 12:32, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I would suggest opening a discussion at WP:BRFN and seeing where it goes from there. Considering your articles I don't think it will be an extended process; so long as they are convinced you aren't using an AI I can't imagine any objections. BilledMammal (talk) 13:16, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, do you mean at WP:BRFA? Thanks for your help! Jlalbion (talk) 13:25, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I meant WP:BOTN. BilledMammal (talk) 09:20, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Will do, thanks again. Jlalbion (talk) 10:29, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Women in Red 8th Anniversary edit

  Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:56, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
