Status and Advice

As reviewing administrator, I deleted the article. On the now deleted talk p. you said the hotel deserves an article as a major part of the tourist scene in its aarea. That's a a good criterion for a travel guide, but WP is WP:NOT a travel guide. In any case, even if there had been adequate references providing substantial coverage from third-party independent reliable sources, not press releases or mere announcements, the article would be deleted as advertising. An articles devoted in large part to the minor recent improvements in a hotel facility is of interest only to people who might be intended to go there, and that's pretty much the definition of promotionalism . Encyclopedia articles are directed to the general public.

Thank you for your help and explanation. It's true that some of the information comes from a press release, and I can understand how renovations aren't interesting. However, they are historical. Is that relevant? This is my first article so I want to get it right. Also, would the information that relies on third party sources, which seems to fit the definition of notability, albeit short, perhaps be relevant as a stub article?
