Speedy deletion nomination of Rajkumar Misra

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello. A tag has been placed on Rajkumar Misra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. noq (talk) 14:04, 12 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the delayed response, I had forgotten you'd left a message after I moved it down for chronological ordering; that erased the little notification bar one gets and you know what they say: out of sight, out of mind. Moving on...

Your article was deleted for a multitude of reasons, most of them related to the apparent absence of notability. On Wikipedia, notability is one of the cornerstones of article creation; if an article clears the general notability guidelines then it usually has a good chance at remaining here. Your article, though, failed to demonstrate any notability by Wikipedia standards. You have sources that mention the man, but the article itself doesn't appear to give any justification as to why he would warrant an article here. There was no mention of a nobel prize, or a lifetime acheivement award, or a president unit citation, or a quantum theory of energy, or any information on his world altering patent for wireless energy, or his legendary copyrighted ad campaign for Microsoft, or Apple, or IBM, or so forth in matter. Compounding the problem of notability in your particular case are the notability guidelines for biography articles, which set additional restrictions upon the articles concerning biographical figures - living and dead. You do, however, have a chance at retaining the article from a notability perspective if it can be demonstrated that your professor meets the criteria listed at Wikipedia:Notability (academics).

The other problem with the article is that the lettering, bolding, and choice of words and phrases lead to a perception that the article was written to promote the man. Bolding is usually only seen once in the article and that is in the first line when the first instance of a person's name is made. Other than that, there should really be no reason to bold anything else in the article. Additionally, you really need to steer clear of words like "illustrious", "highly", "dynamic", "some of the most", and "renown". Off Wikipedia these words may build up a person's reputation, but on Wikipedia words like this are on a "watchlist" of sorts since they are often interpreted as a desperate attempt by an editor to add some sort of notability to a clearly non-notable person in the vain and fleeting hope that the article may be able to stave off an attempt by the Wikipedia community to delete the article.

Now if you want to rebuild the article, or if you want a copy of your deleted material so you can work on it, I'm open to restoring and returning the material. Note though that in the condition the article was in at the time of deletion it would need a lot of help before it could come back onto Wikipedia and have a chance to survive. Alternatively, if you feel the deletion is in error you are free to contest the deletion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. TomStar81 (Talk) 05:42, 15 September 2016 (UTC) Many Thanks TomStar81 (Talk). I will implement these and send the article for review before publish. Jhureley1977 (talk) 09:50, 15 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). It also appears to be incomplete.

I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Yashwant Vaishnav

edit

Hello, Jhureley1977. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Yashwant Vaishnav".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 21:36, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
