Hello! Jerry Heilpern is not the appropriate spot to post information about yourself, because that's the encyclopedic part of the Wikipedia website. User:Jheilpern, however, is available for personal information about yourself. Please see Wikipedia:Introduction and Wikipedia:User page for more information. - CobaltBlueTony 21:32, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Jerry Heilpern, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Jerry Heilpern. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. - CobaltBlueTony 21:33, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome

edit

Welcome back to Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means, and on Notability (organizations and companies) for more detail. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:

The morrison agency

edit

A tag has been placed on The morrison agency, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of The morrison agency and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 14:52, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Advice

edit

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a business listing directory or a vehicle for any kind of promotion. Articles have to be of enough general interest for an encyclopedia article: the Wikipedia term for that is notability, and the requirements are explained in the guideline on Notability and in more detail in Notability (organizations and companies). Articles need to be verifiable from independent, reliable sources - a company's own website does not count as independent - and such independent references are the best way to demonstrate notability. There is also the point that articles must be written from a neutral point of view, and so people are strongly discouraged from writing about themselves or their own companies, because of the conflict of interest involved. For more advice, read carefully the Business' FAQ, in particular the sections headed:

If you disagree with speedy deletion, you can put {{hangon}} (two curly brackets each side) on the article just below the db tag, and put your reasons on the article's talk page; an administrator will read them before he decides. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 15:14, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
