Hi, Jggouvea! Why don't you contribute to the Portuguese Wikipedia too? Arges 13:34, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
One day I may contribute to it too. Right now I am overwhelmed with a lot of personal projects and giving little time to Wikipedia. I will also eventually produce a small text explaining why I started with the English Wikipedia in the first place. jggouvea 03:40, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Guilherme from CAE edit

Hey José Geraldo, how are you? I take you remember me, for we took CAE together. Anyways, I just want to know how your test went, since you were in pain while taking it. I'm proud to say that I got an A, with honors! My highest grade was in speaking. Let me know how yours went. Good bye! That's awesome! All of my papers were within exceptional, except for writing and speaking that were above it. I think you should take the other test, Profiency, as well! Give yourself some time to prepare for it, but don't miss this opportunity! C-ya!

Hi. I'm Beth, known on Wikipedia as Learnportuguese. I am very interested in the Portuguese language and the Portuguese-speaking world. The whole concept of saudade is fascinating. If you want, chek out my user page and talk page and put a watch on both. I have very interesting discussions there. You are very welcome to contribute. :-) learnportuguese (talk) 16:11, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Satanic Head edit

Hmm... I'm sorry, I can't help! I was doing some translations of articles in the Esperanto Wikipedia which didn't have a corresponding article in the English Wikipedia, and I couldn't find references (perhaps I shouldn't have translated it in the first place). The Esperanto version has no references and has remained unchanged since 2005, as has the Portuguese version (which is tagged as an unreferenced article). If it helps, the original author on the Esperanto wiki is Roberto. He speaks Esperanto and Portuguese, but I don't think he speaks English. He's a professor of archeology at the Brazilian National Institute of History and Art Heritage. There's a risk this could be original research. --Sumthingweird (talk) 00:40, 2 October 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sumthingweird (talkcontribs)

Hi, the original author of Satanic Head has now replied to me, citing the following sources [1][2][3][4]. They're all in Portuguese (one of the benefits, and difficulties, of the Esperanto Wikipedia is that because of the linguistic diversity of the contributors, there is also a diversity of source languages). Is it possible to restore the article and include the sources? --Sumthingweird (talk) 05:11, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
References [5] and [6] are roughly the same text. Makes me wonder who plagiarised who. It mus be also added that "Recanto das Letras" is a website for amateur writers and that Fernando Dannemann identifies himself as a "contador de histórias" (storyteller). Referece [7][8] is too brief to be even useful. Reference [9] is currently offline.
All in all, references are not authoritative and, even if the character does exist, it might not be notable enough to deserve a separate wikipedia page. jggouvea (talk) 22:46, 15 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge ‎ has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:38, 27 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Spiritist practice edit

The article Spiritist practice has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Redundant since Spiritism already exists, material entirely unsourced, practice not separately notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 31 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
