Your signature edit

Hi, I've found a problem with your signature's coding. The bold/italics formatting starts within the span tag, but ends outside of it, which somehow causes the blue color formatting to not end after your sig. I suggest you change it to this, which works correctly and is slightly shorter, because it avoids the font tag:

<span style="font-family:Arial;color:blue"> Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake)</span>

On a side note is WoW still causing trouble here? I remember seeing those XXX on wheels move but haven't reverting anything of him, so maybe I will have the occasion to the meet him at times, since he had already multiple sleeper accounts.--JForget 23:22, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Whether if it was a question for myself or in general, I did pay for the internet and cable, so I would say yes for the WHOIS server (if including related costs). Unfortunately I've dropped out in computer sciences courses before switching to social sciences, so advanced elements in computers networks, i'm quite poor on that.--JForget 00:05, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't exactly, as I pay a general amount of money per month for various stuff, so I cannot know the exact. And also I'm sure that there are variations depending on who is the provider. The Internet, if I remember (with Videotron) was something being 15$ and 20$ and I'm sure that there are other costs I don't know. So I cannot give an exact price especially since it varies on the country (US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, etc etc.) Let's face it, the computer, cable, Internet, and other gadgets, overall it is in reality quite an expensive cost in total - all my tools just for access the Internet was over 1000$ CDN (actually it doesn't matter the currency since the CDN loonie is at par with the US dollar although well behind the Euro).

Maybe someone else can mention the exact total costs for the WHOIS, If I'm missing something--JForget 00:32, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stuff I tag is generally nonsense or self-promotion and I message the article creator. edit

I have almost 6000 edits to my name; please give me some credit? HalfShadow 03:05, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

My point is, since the stuff I'm tagging is almost always instant-delete material, leaving a edit summary is mildly pointless; as soon as an admin sees it, it's gone. I mean, when you're tagging something like a page with 'Potato' posted 500 times in a row it's kind of a given, right? HalfShadow 03:12, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello JetLover, thank you for offering to nominate me for administrator. I'm honoured by your request, but I feel I should decline. While I feel fairly confident in my knowledge of policies, and while I'm sure I can handle the inevitable stresses of adminship, I'm just not interested in becoming an admin at the present time. The figures make them look like they are a large notable company but when you do the conversion, 40m Kroner is only about $7.3m (£3.6m) Not what you'd call big turnover for the industry they're in? ---- WebHamster 23:08, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Aplogies for putting the message in the wrong place, I got distracted. Multi-tasking isn't my forté :). AfD is one way to go yes, but there was no assertion of notability, nor any 3rd party sources in that article. Looked like a CSD to me. It doesn't look like it's a company that stands out from any other of its type. ---- WebHamster 23:16, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
as the reviewing admin, there was definitely enough information to pass speedy, and I would have removed the tag except another admin already had done so. . Any plausible assertion of notability is enough, and the criteria the above editor has been using are--in a word--just plain wrong, according to WP:CSD. There need not be sources, and asserting any significant role in an industry is enough. But whether the company is in fact notable may be another matter.DGG (talk) 15:30, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I understand your point, but it's an anonymous IP with no prior edits. WHOIS shows it as belonging to Tiscali, a large ISP in England. It's far from clear that this would even be the same people using the IP the next time. If it is, I agree a much longer block will be in order then. Sockpuppet? edit

On User talk:Bobo192, JetLover said:
Hello, Bobo192. Would it be allowed by policy for me to make a sockpuppet to maintain the sandbox?

Sockpuppet? I don't see that as being the case. Having a second account for a single purpose, where that purpose is neither malicious in intent or is for a certain place where it is not pushing any form of agenda seems fine with me. In fact, given that the account will hopefully be put to good use, there should be no problem.

For that matter, I had completely forgotten that Sandbot had ceased running by itself. Maybe it's worth asking whether it's of any use for User:Uncle G's 'bot to reset the sandbox and its related pages on more than a once-a-day-at-1am basis. Bobo. 04:07, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

On User talk:Bobo192, JetLover said:
Thank you. I am going to use it to re-add the header. Happy editing!

That's perfectly legit, I've found myself resetting the sandbox manually on several occasions and I know how painful a task it can be when inappropriate content arises on the page. So long as you only carry out the tasks which you claim you will with the account, I don't see how anyone could be against it - all I would suggest is that you put a message on the page of the account saying, "This is an alternative account of JetLover, and I am using it for [this] purpose and [this] purpose only." That's an invalid question. An RfC is a Request for Comment. Various users will comment, and if enough users certify a dispute, it will continue. The point of one is to convince the user in question to change their behaviour. --Maxim(talk) (contributions) 21:40, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

You may not be aware, but I have participated in several FPCs, and that image is certainly not of FP quality. Your message, categorized by Ryan as an "outburst", was embarrassing to your figure. You're the one that needs an attitude check here, man. I'm truly sorry that Wikipedia has to put up with people like you. Try to think before you leave such messages if the man you are addressing did it in good faith, or just to screw with you.
