Plato edit

Thank you for clarifying your intention in linking to that site on a number of pages. The site you linked to, however, was not the site that was hosting the texts. If you feel that the Stephanus pagination is important, please link directly to the site that hosts the appropriate format. The site you linked to was a clearinghouse which, so far as I can tell, hosting nothing itself except for a new translation of the Bible. RJC Talk 03:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Philo (copied from Shituf talk page) edit

The material about Philo does not mention shituf anywhere. If someone wants to present a reliable source that says that Philo spoke about shituf, that would be reasonable for this article. But without such a source, including Philo on the grounds that you think what he is addressing is the equivalent of shituf is original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia.

If you are unable to provide a rationale for this material being in the article, I will remove it on the basis of WP:OR. -LisaLiel (talk) 18:16, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think that two days is a reasonable amount of time for you to come up with such sources. If you can't find any and you haven't removed the material yourself, I can help by removing it for you. If you put it back in, I won't engage in an edit war with you; instead, I'll report you for a violation of WP:OR. -LisaLiel (talk) 18:19, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Scratch that -- I just looked him up. Okay, now I really feel stupid. Both of you seem to be following his advice -- but I really have seen both yours and hers cited somewhere! And it's devilishly difficult to cite things that aren't active on the page. In any case, I understand your point. After looking at the article, it's still intact without either of your unreferenced sources.Tim (talk) 21:09, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
