Welcome to the Wikipedia! edit

Hello, and Welcome to the Wikipedia! Here are a few perfunctory tips to hasten your acculturation into the Wikipedia experience:

And some odds and ends: Boilerplate text, Brilliant prose, Cite your sources, Civility, Conflict resolution, How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Pages needing attention, Peer review, Policy Library, Utilities, Verifiability, Village pump, and Wikiquette; also, you can sign your name on any page by typing four tildes: ~~~~.

Best of luck, and most importantly, have fun! Mathmo Talk 04:40, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Neo Patwa edit

A tag has been placed on Neo Patwa, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

The article does not prove the notability of the subject, and is apparently written by the creator of the subject language, violating conflict of interest guidelines.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 04:44, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ooiryō edit

Can you provide a reference source which will help clarify how this article might be positioned in a context created by Daijō-kan#The Eight Ministries?

According to Nihon Ōdai Ichiran, the Asuka-, Nara- and Heian-period Imperial court hierarchy encompassed a Ministry of the Imperial Household (宮内省,, Kunai-shō). As you may know, the origin of the current Imperial Household Agency can be traced back to the provisions on the government structure which were put into effect during the reign of Emperor Monmu, with significant modifications in 1702, 1870, and 1889. If there is something which can help correct any oversight in the related articles I've worked to improve, I would very much want to learn about it. I hope you are able to point me in a constructive direction? --Tenmei (talk) 01:46, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Eiichi Sugimoto edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Eiichi Sugimoto, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No listed sources, notability not clearly established as per WP:BIO

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. November 2010 edit

Thanks for contributing new article Takechi Hanpeita. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Cindamuse (talk) 09:52, 25 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
