Why are you here?
- You are hacked off because I nominated one of your articles for deletion - This isn't the place to discuss it, I strongly suggest taking it up in the appropriate AfD discussion or on the articles talk page.
- You are replying to a message I left on your talk page - Don't reply here! Reply on your talk page, I'll be watching!
- You want to discuss an article - If it is an article I have previously contributed to, it is likely to be on my watchlist, consider starting a discussion there instead, it may generate more discussion from outside parties.
- You think I'm harassing you - Unlikely. I have over 20,000 pages on my watchlist, including every UK place, road, bus operator and bus route (and most rail articles). If you edit the same group of articles, we are bound to bump into each other!
- You actually wish to talk to me - Welcome! You are in the right place, start a new discussion at the bottom of the page!
The talk page
Why>?
editWhat is it to you? Why are you involving youself in other peoples problems? Please - a genuine request to understand --Keith 00:12, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is a community, anybody can chip in opinions on any topic and talk page. If you don't like that, then maybe this isn't the place for you. You blatantly broke the 3 revert rule and as such you should be blocked. Jeni (talk) 00:15, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Jeni
editJeni, Redped here I am very sorry if I have angered you in any way with my edits on Callow Hill, Worcestershire. I now alot about the village as I live near it in Redditch.
Very sorry, I hope we can still be friends,
Redped. xxx —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.110.236.179 (talk) 18:23, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Ashton, Cambs.
editYou have reverted my re-direct claiming "no consensus." Why? This isn't a controversial move and you have not edited this article previously. Ashton is an area within Bainton civil parish and not, in itself, notable. Chrisieboy (talk) 16:53, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- If you feel that the village doesn't warrant an article, then I suggest sending it to AfD to generate consensus. Jeni (talk) 16:55, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Village? Which village are we talking about? While we are at it, thanks for the note left on my talk page explaining your revert... Chrisieboy (talk) 16:58, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Simmondley
editI live in Simmondley and assure you that the hare and hounds pub is known as the "hairy duffer" and not the "hairy dog". Please do not change it back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bj884life (talk • contribs) 20:57, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure it was the "Hairy Dog". Jeff M | Talk2Me | BNosey - 21:00, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Since it is likely to be unsourced either way, I have removed it completely. Its not exactly encyclopaedic anyway. Jeni (talk) 21:01, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Thats hardly fair the pub is known as the duffer or hairy duffer. What does it matter? Do you guys live there? No. The pub is known as the hairy duffer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bj884life (talk • contribs) 21:02, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- If you can cite it to a reliable source, feel free to add the information again. Jeni (talk) 21:06, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Just looked up the definition of duffer as I'd never heard of the word before, if the pub was truly called "The Hairy Duffer" it would mean the hairy clumsy person..? Jeff M | Talk2Me | BNosey - 21:09, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Personal attack
editHi,
I just wanted to let you know that I responded to your comment on my talk page. It is important to me to know how to appropriately proceed in such matters, where I felt like the victim of abuse by another, and want to let them know by posting a comment on their page. How may I better construct my critique, which applies to the behavior of the user, that I may successfully refrain from personally attacking them? Shiggity (talk) 01:53, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply on my page... I responded there... feel free to remove this text if you see fit. Shiggity (talk) 02:42, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
My edits
editObviously you didn't read my reply on my talkpage.
My edits ARE constructive, actually. Since East Hunsbury is near MK, which is in the south east, I feel this is a more appropriate category for Northampton to fall into. I do not deserve to be blocked. I shall revert you, again. BFMV100000 (talk) 20:53, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Please review your "vote" and the new "proposals". Srnec (talk) 23:38, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Sigh, Big Brother
editIf I am not mistaken, people need to reach consensus to change things, not to keep them. The manual of style is rather solid in my head. But giving me a "warning" saying "Welcome to Wikipedia" is not only useless, but rather pointless, since I am not new nor am I doing anything wrong. Please check out how all of the other pages before "generically warning" me. Thanks. And oh, I plan on changing it, because people need to reach a consensus to change, not keep (like I already have said twice now). –Turiantalk 21:32, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- There already is consensus, consensus was reached on the MOS a long time ago. Jeni (talk) 21:33, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- Please provide a link. And also, please read WP:DTTR. Thanks. –Turiantalk 21:41, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps also read WP:TTR, and WP:MOSTITLE while your at it. Jeni (talk) 21:43, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, it depends on what the title of the show is. I see it as Big Brother 2009, not just Big Brother. So yes, consensus needs to be reached. –Turiantalk 21:47, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- If you can find a reliable source that states the show is called Big Brother 2009, rather than the show being called Big Brother with the 2009 being used to distinguish it from a previous series, then your edits will stand. Jeni (talk) 21:51, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- Since when do I have to provide proof to keep? That seems rather backwards. –Turiantalk 21:53, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- If you wish to change consensus, I suggest you go to WT:MOS, as you won't change consensus on my talk page! I won't be replying here any more, as this will go round in circles and is pointless. Jeni (talk) 21:57, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- This has nothing to do with MoS. It is a matter of defining a series title. –Turiantalk 22:00, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

M4
editHi Jeni, you picked up on this[1] seconds before me. Sadly, I have my suspicions about who may be lurking behind that IP. Pondle (talk) 18:08, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- I have no suspicions at all! I just know that if Swansea had magically disappeared, or that the M4 had magically moved away from it, then there is a high chance it would have been on the news and we would know about it! Jeni (talk) 18:14, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Your Harassment Of Me
editWill you pplease stop following me around and reverting every edit I make, I realise we have had disagreements, but it is getting silly now. You revert EVERY edit I make and if it continues I will report you for harassment. 6jan2009.
- Note you have already been reported (and blocked) for vandalism. Jeni (talk) 15:30, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Your mistake
editHi, you seem to have made a mistake, an anon added this unsourced translation the other day. Against the consensus on the talkpage. In following with WP:BRD, if you'd like to propose the inclusion of this to support the anons fringery you'll have to present a rationale on the talk. Thanks. - Yorkshirian (talk) 13:59, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Favicon #5
editI found it today. It was http://www.sharoma.com/. This is a real divine providence, because I din't find any other of the 29 favicons yet. Debresser (talk) 15:02, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't recognise any of the others at all except for that one which looked a little like streetmap! Jeni (talk) 15:23, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Which one would that be? #6? Do you have its address? Debresser (talk) 15:52, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Nah, the one you mentioned above, which I suggested on your talk page already. Jeni (talk) 16:03, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- Your comments at this AFD discussion seem off-topic, being more concerned with my behaviour than with the article in question. I shall continue to comment there as seems appropriate. If this continues to bother you, please address me directly at my talk page or at a more suitable forum such as WP:WQA. Colonel Warden (talk) 12:40, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Jeni, thanks for being a voice of reason in that AFD. Colonel Warden's comment's at the AFD decision seem to be far more off-topic! It is indeed relevant to discuss there his badgering of others there. I don't know if his behavior is widespread enough to justify a User RFC or a wikiquette alert or whatever, but if you do choose to open one please let me know and I will speak to my experience with him (which is just in this one AFD so far). Thanks! doncram (talk) 17:24, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- First step will be ANI if he persists with this behaviour, which it looks like he intends to do. Jeni (talk) 17:26, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

RGS Worcester and The Alice Ottley School
editWhy have you reverted my edits? The school's name is changing and the website is to be updated. Do you really think I would have done all that and wasted my time if the school was not changing its name? Please move the page back - all the redirects have now been changed, as well as text on the actual page itself.
Regards, Btline (talk) 19:03, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- According to [2] the name change doesn't come into effect until September. Moving the article when the school is still known under its previous name is inappropriate. Either way you incorrectly moved the page, which will now need fixing by an administrator to move properly, I will contact one on 1st September when the name change comes into effect. Jeni (talk) 19:09, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- I can see your point, but what the article means is that when pupils return to the school in September, it will be RGS. In reality, the school has been known as RGS since July, when the pupils broke up. I admit I incorrectly moved the page, a hard decision to make, but as a proper move was not available, it was the best option. I have been through the rigmarole of involving admins before, and it took an age! It is easier to cut and paste, and wait for an admin to transfer the history across. Therefore, I suggest that the page is moved now. I would also like to point out that I had made other changes to the page, including reorganisation, and some small edits to fix the article. Thanks for your prompt reply, Btline (talk) 19:23, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- A copy and paste move should never be made in any circumstances, it is a *lot* of trouble for an admin to perform a history merge, and from experience the housekeeping speedy template is usually responded to fairly quickly. These days I just ask one of the nice admins on IRC to step in and do it, which is quicker. To be fair, its best to wait until it is officially known under the new name, for verifiability, it is only going to cause issues if Wikipedia is saying one thing, yet the official website is saying something completely different. The above linked article suggests the official rename date of 1st September, though I'd guess there is a high change they will update the website before then, at which time there may be more of a case for an early move. I have set up a reminder for me to move the page on that date, so don't feel you need to try to remember yourself. Jeni (talk) 19:37, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

It may interest you that the website has had changes today, with renamed sections cropping up. I stand by my actions - the school has been re-branded. Btline (talk) 15:13, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Corfe Castle
editAbout this:
For two months that suggestion has sat on the talk page, with not a dickey bird from anyone, then 5 minutes after I move it you move to somewhere “proper”.
So, why is your move a “proper” disambiguation? The original page never mentioned the county, and unless there's another one somewhere else, it isn’t an issue. And I thought the whole problem with the original page was that both the village and the castle have the same name, so Corfe Castle Dorset can still apply to both. Moonraker12 (talk) 19:12, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- The relevant guidelines for naming disambiguated UK places can be found at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names)#England. Jeni (talk) 19:15, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for creating the article on the castle, Moonraker, I'd been meaning to get round to it myself but haven't had time recent;y to get to the library for the journal articles I wanted. Could some references be added to the history section? At the moment the section's a bit bare of citations, but since it's a new article it shouldn't be too hard to remember where the information came from. Cheers, Nev1 (talk) 19:21, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
