April 2018 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Vanjagenije (talk) 00:30, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I did notice someone created a page for me and wanted to correct a few inaccuracies as well as add a high-quality picture. I did not realize this was a violation. I can erase those edits as I would like to continue to be able to edit Wikipedia pages. Many thanks.

Accept reason:

Unblocked per this user's agreement to change their username and not edit the article in question directly, instead making requested edits. 331dot (talk) 00:08, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Vanjagenije would you object to an unblock if this person agreed to not edit the page about them and instead make edit requests on the talk page? 331dot (talk) 08:04, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@331dot: Yes, but they were also editing the article Živorad Kovačević. Even the username "Jelenazikakovacevic" indicates that the account is being used by two persons: Jelena & Žika (i.e. Živorad) Kovačević. I know that Živorad Kovačević is dead, but they are obviously connected, so I think this person should also not edit that article, and change the username to indicate one person. Vanjagenije (talk) 08:36, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Jelenazikakovacevic, would you agree to the requests that Vanjagenije has made in order to be unblocked? (not edit the two articles in question directly, and change your username at WP:CHU) 331dot (talk) 08:40, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi all, apologies if I'm not editing this as I should. My user name is jelenazikakovacevic, my name is Jelena Kovacevic. My father was Zivorad Kovacevic and I created his page after his death. I had access to photographs and documents and was under the impression that this was allowed; please correct me if I'm wrong. I am one unique person, here is my email if you'd like to contact me ((Redacted)). I use jelenazk often as my user name (see my blog) in memory of my father. Am I not allowed to edit the article about my father? I am happy and willing to follow the rules Wikipedia establishes but I would like to continue to edit that page if allowed. Moreover, for a page about me, there was a question about my photograph (I uploaded it). It is the photograph I own and has been the one given to people by me when it was requested for publicity (as in the NYU announcement). Jelenazikakovacevic (talk) 11:46, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

(As talk pages are very much public, it's not a good idea to post contact information on them; I've thus redacted the email address. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:51, 15 April 2018 (UTC))Reply
At this point, the only way you will be permitted to contribute content in the area of your conflict of interest(please read that link if you haven't already) will be through making edit requests on the article talk page; persons with a COI should not directly edit articles in the area of their COI. As I state above, if you agree to the requests made by the blocking admin, I would be able to unblock you. 331dot (talk) 20:55, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I understand. I will not make further edits to either of the two pages you mentioned. Do you still need me to change my user name or is that ok? Jelenazikakovacevic (talk) 21:58, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think it's a good idea. I understand why you made it that way, but here it is best to be clear that you are a single individual. If you agree to change it, it can be the first thing you do once you are unblocked, at WP:CHU. 331dot (talk) 22:22, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Will do. I will wait for the unblock and then change the user name. Thanks for your patience, Jelena Jelenazikakovacevic (talk) 00:03, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
