Commercial use of Image:Avp logo.gif edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Avp logo.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Avp logo.gif is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Avp logo.gif itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 23:46, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability of BD Performing Arts edit

A tag has been placed on BD Performing Arts, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Od Mishehu 13:12, 13 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

re:BD Performing Arts edit

Hi, firstly thanks for asking (quite often people just hurl abuse). Unfortunately the article met the criteria for speedy deletion: A7. This means it was an article that did not give any evidence of being notable. A google search gives 7 results and all articles are supposed to be verifiable with reliable sources. A user tagged the article to say that it met the criterion A7 and I agreed. You can recreate the article, however if there are no sources (bear in mind that they should be independant of the subject so something like a newspaper article) it is likely that it will be deleted again by someone else. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Avp logo.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Avp logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:27, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:MBI Logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:MBI Logo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:08, 20 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps edit

The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps article as rewritten is about BD's "A" corps. It is not about BD Preforming Arts (which I admit to erring in not naming as the sponsoring organization). Moving information directly, as written, from the BD website, to my understanding, is not acceptable for a Wikipedia article. If things have been omitted from the article that should have been included, then new work should be added, not previously published, copyrighted material.

As a note, as soon as I had finished the rewrite on BDA and the posting of the new articles on BDB & BDC, I sent an Email to Dave Gibbs, asking that they be reviewed for errors or omissions. I am working my way through the Wikipedia articles on active D&B corps, and I am trying to present them in a similar style and in compliance with Wikipedia policies. Those that have already been done have also been reviewed and approved by the corps directors or someone acting for the director. GWFrog (talk) 17:23, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

More Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps edit

I have written and am about to add to the Wikipedia a new article--- BD Performing Arts ---which should have no notability problems. This piece contains the information that I had previously removed from the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps article and more. However, it most definitely needs more work. Most noticeable is the lack of history on the Twirling Corps and the Winter Guards as well as dates of the twirlers' championships. Once the new piece is uploaded, I will revert the BD piece to a corrected version of what I had previously rewritten. I hope this meets with your approval and with Dave's.

Among the changes you made in my rewrite, I noted that you removed the info on the Blue Devils Music School. If I made this reference in error, it is because it was taken from the BD webpage History section. If it no longer exists, then mention should be made of its termination.

I also hope you were not overly upset with my earlier work, as the tone of the note on your reversion indicated. I am only trying to give the activity an accurate and acceptable presentation in the Wikipedia. I try very hard to be accurate, which is why I asked that my rewrite be reviewed in the first place. September 2013 edit

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Monsters University may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Disambiguation link notification for December 4 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited John M. Meehan, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Composition, Drum & Bugle Corps and Georgia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Proposed deletion of John M. Meehan edit

The article John M. Meehan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not appear to meet any known notability standard.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
