Speedy deletion of Paragon software group edit

A tag has been placed on Paragon software group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Jfire (talk) 03:42, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re-Reviewing Business FAQ edit

Hi. I'm re-reviewing the Business FAQ. Please give me a few minutes. Thanks.

Question edit

I'm trying to just place a straight description of Paragon Software Group. This is a legitimate company with legitimate products that have been reviewed by PC Mag, PC World, various radio shows, and more.

What, exactly, am I missing here?

Copy edit PSG edit

I've trimmed the article down a bit and removed some sentences that were possibly interpreted as advertising. Also removed the (in my opinion incomprehensible) description "storage lifecycle management products".  Channel ®    17:27, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Channel:

That was supposed to be storage management lifecycle products, but we're okay removing that. However, I think that you can now remove the COI tag. Yes, I work for the company, but as I indicated, there are articles about our products that pointed to an ambiguous page. Will that work since we both agree on the neutrality? --JeffHyman (talk) 17:35, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I also removed the link to the Paragon website (it's already in the infobox), but you re-inserted it again. Two links to a company's website on one page DOES look like advertising, so I removed it again. As far as I can tell the rest of the article is pretty neutral.  Channel ®    17:41, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
As far as COI goes, I think it's generally better not to create (or do work on) articles about the company you work for. Just my 2 cents.  Channel ®    17:52, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Channel:

Cool. Makes sense on the 2 links. I would normally agree with not writing for the company you work with, but in this case, I was the only one able to do it.. So can we remove the COI?--JeffHyman (talk) 18:16, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

As far as I'm concerned, sure. If somebody has a problem with the article they can always add it again.  Channel ®    19:53, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! --JeffHyman (talk) 20:34, 13 April 2008 (UTC)--JeffHyman (talk) 20:34, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
