  Hello, I'm I dream of horses. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Cameron Mizell seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 01:26, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Jdvaleri. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 01:41, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Cameron Mizell. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 02:50, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I do wish you'd make up your mind. If your employer asked you to edit here, you me do meet WP:PAID. Is there any editing you'd like to do that is not at the behest of your employer? --Dlohcierekim (talk) 04:32, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'am not being paid by my employer for making this. I should not be blocked and have my post removed. I am not being paid for this Jdvaleri (talk) 03:11, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Really. [1], [2] Please tell your employer he can't use Wikipedia as an advertising platform. --NeilN talk to me 03:50, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I really would like to know what I have to do in order to get the wiki pages up and running. I will gladly change whatever I have to for the Cameron Mizell page and also for the Josh Gannet. But you're saying I have to put WP:Paid where do I need to put that exactly? Jdvaleri (talk) 02:40, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You have already demonstrated that you are incapable of writing about your clients in an appropriately encyclopedic manner, and so you will not be unblocked as long as we believe it is your intention to continue promoting them here. This is a separate issue to the lack of paid editing disclosure; even if you do correctly disclose your paid relationship, Wikipedia still neither wants nor needs your edits to these pages. • When I declined the duplicate request below I had not examined your contributions, but I have now and I can say I agree entirely with Yunshui's judgment. Your contributions were written in blatant promotion/advertising/marketing speak, which is extremely inappropriate. And even with the appropriate WP:PAID disclosure, you would still not be allowed to introduce material like that into Wikipedia - Wikipedia is an encyclopedia (click on that link if you don't know what one of those is), not a free marketing platform. Just really want to get the page up and running, please just tell me what I need to do. And where I have to type it exactly. I understand I have to put "paid" even though I am not being paid for this but I will put that if it means getting the page up. Just tell me where do I need to type it Jdvaleri (talk) 02:54, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Technical decline only, as a duplicate of the one above. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:30, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

We have already told you this: "You have already demonstrated that you are incapable of writing about your clients in an appropriately encyclopedic manner, and so you will not be unblocked as long as we believe it is your intention to continue promoting them here." You say "I'am not trying to promote anything" and "in no way at all was that an ad". Really? " This is when Gannet would excel his audio career even further, by working with some of the most powerful artists in the industry", etc. etc. Can you really not see it? As this is a case of WP:IDHT, I'm revoking your talk page access. Yamla (talk) 12:48, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

(reason- I read back what I wrote for "cameron" and yes I agree with you that does sound like an ad. I'm willing to re change everything. That's not what I'm trying to do. I'm just simply trying to update his wiki. As well as Josh Gannets wiki he is a producer from New Jersey that has been for years and in no way at all was that an ad or promotion for him. I used no words on his page that would make it sound it was being made for an ad. Im not trying to post an ad, im just trying to make to help these guys out with there wiki pages. You are both being extremely disrespectful towards me and rude. I can't believe on a professional platform like this I would be talked to by "admins" like this, It's ridiculous. I haven't been disrespectful and I get blocked completely. I'am not trying to promote anything they have websites for that on other platforms. I understand what Wikipedia is and I know what encylopedia is... I'm sorry but you'll have to deal with me I'm not giving up until I am allowed to post one of the two Wikipedias and I get unblocked. Jdvaleri (talk) 12:15, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Just FYI, Wikipedia is not a professional platform - it's a volunteer project, with admins also being unpaid volunteers. And my "if you don't know what one of those is" comment was in no way meant to be disrespectful - we get a very large number of newcomers here who genuinely don't appear to know what an encyclopedia is or that Wikipedia is one. You, above: in no way at all was that an ad or promotion for him. I used no words on his page that would make it sound it was being made for an ad.
You, on the now deleted sandbox for Josh Gannet: Gannet soon found his producing talents/Gannet would excel his audio career even further/working with some of the most powerful artists in the industry/Gannet also helped with some major summer festivals.
You've been working in marketing too long if you think that sort of content doesn't sound like advertising. Yunshui  13:42, 19 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
