If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

Articles you created, such as Nuclear micro-battery, CIFMS and Knowledge Acquisition and Documentation Structuring, and images such as Image:MRP2.jpg are copyright violations. Do not steal content from others and add it to Wikipedia again, or your account will be indefinitely blocked. Neıl 14:25, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dear Neil, I'm replying to your following comment :

You need to know the reference of the four articles you deleted and the picture have been sourced from y OWN WORK (4 books've written between 1989 and 2007:

Nanocomputers & Swarm Intelligence, John Wiley-ISTE, London 2008, ISBN 9781847040022 Inventer l'ordinateur du XXI° siècle, Hermes Science Publishing, London 2006, ISBN 2746215160 Principles of Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, John Wiley, New York, 1992, ISBN 047193450X Les nouvelles perspectives de la production, Dunod 1990, ISBN 9782040198206

I am the author of the four abovementioned books and have the permission of the publishers for those type of excerpt. (I think I've clearly mentionned the pages of the book in the bibliography section). I've mentionned them in the reference section the reference section. So please be so kind and restore the deleted articles. Regards--Jbw2 (talk) 08:25, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi Jbw. Thank you for your response. In order to clear this up, I looked up the author of these works and yes, they have the initials JBW. I also found an email address for the author of these works, Jean-Baptiste Waldner, that ends in ..@wanadoo.fr. In order to confirm you are the same JBW as the author of these works, please send me an email via Special:EmailUser/Neil, ensuring that this ..@wanadoo.fr email address is activated in your preferences. I hope, as an author, you will understand it is important that we are careful with people's intellectual property. If this is confirmed I will immediately restore the work. Regards, Neıl 08:52, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have now received your confirmation - your content will be restored in the next few minutes, and I will let you know when it has been done. Neıl 11:19, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I believe the articles have been restored. The image has also been restored, and I've reinserted the image into the three articles it had appeared in. Thanks for your patience in helping to clear this up!
Thanks Neil for your quick restore. I'm a little curious, just a question : what has actually been the initial raison which leads to this recent copyright campaign about my articles ? --Jbw2 (talk) 12:32, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
It was a message from an administrator on the French Wikipedia, Zouavman Le Zouave (talk · contribs) - see [1]. Neıl 12:48, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I might be best to let Zouavman Le Zouave know that the matter has been cleared up, so the content can be restored on the foreign Wikipedia as well. Seems only fair, I think. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 12:55, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dear Zouavman Le Zouave, I've been informed by Neil about the the current debate. Could you please publish a brief post on your admin notice board, following the topic "Possible copyright violation" - see [2]? It would be very kind, else, some doubt about my integrity could still subist. Thanks in advance --Jbw2 (talk) 08:14, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thank you for your message. I would be very glad to make a conclusion message on the administrator noticeboard as soon as possible. However, I think there are still a couple of elements to sort out, for I have been informed that the contents used in some of the articles, at least on the French speaking Wikipedia, have also been copied from le Quid and le Figaro. Maybe you could leave a little message on the French speaking administrator's noticeboard, making it clear where your creations where taken from. A section of the Bulletin des Administrateurs has been made for the issue, and can be found here. Thanks in advance for your input. Zouavman Le Zouave 15:06, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Neil, thanks for your patience. I'm ready to send all the jusfications if required via mail (for instance draft, photoshop original images,...) I'M DEFINITIVELY NOT A PLAGARIST and I'm really fed up with this french witch hunt on wikipedia. I thought I could improve theproject with my work, but since saturday, I've decided to only contribute to citizendium, under my own identity (no more contribution on the french wikipedia). Keep up your excellent job on the english wikipedia Regards--Jbw2 (talk) 09:24, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dear Neil, first of all thanks again for having defended my integrity on wikipedia. In order to avoid any additional debate, may I ask you to post a brief post after your comment on the admin notice board here [3]? Thanks in advance--Jbw2 (talk) 08:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
That page is already in the archives, but I have made a note there - [4]. I hope you will consider continuing to contribute to the English Wikipedia, and would also hope you reconsider your decision concerning the French Wikipedia once they have resolved these issues. Best, Neıl 10:05, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank You Neil for your confidence. As I told you I'm a real author, not a plagiarist. I've been very sad and upset to hear about new attack from the french wikipedia admins. I consider realythose attack as biased. for instance, two new image I've published on commons have been removed by gemini1980 (see :" Au passage, vu ses méthodes, j'ai beaucoup de doute sur la propriété ou l'autorisation de publication réelle des images Image:Fracture rotule haubanage.jpg et Image:Avertisseur.jpg qu'il a importées, mais je ne suis pas arrivé à les retrouver aussi facilement que les textes. Gemini1980 oui ? non ? 19 juin 2008 à 11:54 (CEST) ). I've been forbidden to any new post for 8 days by the admin, so I'm not able to jutify oce more the picture are my own production. I'm ready to send you the psd files and the original picture with all the evidence they are mine. could you please accpet to be the intermdiate link and send me an email on which I wold be able to send the basic picture, the psd files and all the ther staff repquired to prove my honnesty ? I'm tired to contribute on the french wiki, I' will carry on my work on the english and start a editor contrbution on expert-only contribution on citizendium. French wikipedia has a lot to learn from the english wikipedia in term of behaviour ! With Kind Regards--Jbw2 (talk) 12:00, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I will contact you via email, in the next day or two. Neıl 12:13, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Greetings, Jbw2. The reason you have been blocked is because you have made legal threats to another user, accuing him of slander. The reason the French speaking editors are making a big deal out of this is because, apparently, the content you have added on Wikipedia has not only been taken from your copyrighted material, but from other copyrighted sources such as le Quid and newspapers. Plus, you have only been blocked one week, which, unless I am making a serious mistake, 7 days (see here). Another thing: the citation by Gemini1980 that you have brought up several times is in no way slander. Since no translation has been given, and this could be badly interpreted, here comes a translation: "Considering the user's methods, I have a lot of doubt concerning the property/autorisation of those images, but I have not been able to find them as easily as the texts." Accusing the user of slander and expressing legal threats, however, is extremely forbidden on Wikipedia, and this was the reason for your block. When your block is over, I strongly encourage you to leave a message on the Bulletin des Administrateurs so we can clarify the issue. Zouavman Le Zouave 12:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello Zouavman, sorry for jaming Neil's page here, but that's the only way to answer to your above post. I will provide you with a more detailed comment on your page as soon as I will be able to. But just agree how unfair some unjustified comments were ("insérer des images référencées de son livre dans wikipédia insertion que l'on peut qualifier de spam... demande de suppression soit faite sur commons. Il y a si peu de chances qu'il les ai réalisées lui même... ). I've discussed the previous spam assertion sunday with my agent who raised the libel suit suggestion. I agree it was a gut reaction a little extreme, but I cannot accept that kind of unfounded criticisms without any reaction, in particular when they harm not only to my own reputation but also well-famed publisher like Dunod, Hermes or Wiley for instance ! Moreover, some references to my books have been doneon wiki french before my first contribution, i.e. by other contributors. You do not ignore that an administrator role is not only a right, but also a duty with strong values. And presumption of innocence is one of the first of them. Thanks for the dialg, you are clearly one of the most mature and conscientious admin of thefrench board and i really appreciate the discussion--Jbw2 (talk) 13:45, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dear Neil, here is another absolutely unfounded attack I would ask you to plaid on Wiki Commons if requested : see the message from Creasy "Vu les antécédents, le nombre et la qualité des images, je suis d'avis qu'une demande de suppression soit faite sur commons. Il y a si peu de chances qu'il les ai réalisées lui même... --Creasy±‹porter plainte› 19 juin 2008 à 14:29 (CEST) ". Since I know the autocratic and very expeditious process of the french wikipedia board, I've decided to focus on the english wikipedia, wikicommons and citizendium only. So I will continue to publish on Commons and need to get the full confidence of the Commons administrators board. So I will provide them with ABSOLUTELY ALL the evidence that all the work I've published is mine. Sorry for disturbing you with these childish debate. Kind Regards--Jbw2 (talk) 13:11, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am sorry, but I am not an administrator on Commons, and cannot help you there. If you have problems there, please then ask the Commons administrators to come and speak to me for verification. Neıl 11:20, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ash, I'm a little bit surprised about your propension to delete figures used with the adequate rights and appreciated in many other university works with the required author authorization. I am the author of the deleted picture and also the author of other picture your suggested to remove. That's your and wikipedia decision. I'm not really sure that with such a policicy of rejecting the tradional author work from wikipedia, the project will gain in content. I'm just wondering about the actual aim of wikipedia: what is actually the type of content you want to publish if you ban more and more the traditional written publication ? thanks for uyour comment--Jbw2 (talk) 09:38, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not banning anything here, just attempting to ensure copyright status is clear. The system is a straightforward process to protect the copyright of authors. If you upload images you have to make the copyright status clear at that time or expect images to be removed. If you are the author the process linked to here http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Ash#Image:MRP2.jpg is not that onerous as it just involves sending an email from your recognized email address; the email you send stays confidential. If you are unable to do this, then your claim to be the author in question is not considered credible.—Ash (talk) 10:05, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nanocomputer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ISTE (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
