Speedy deletion nomination of File:Rembrandt-Kopist 001.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Rembrandt-Kopist 001.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion () tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whenever I see someone adding Portuguese interwikis to Byzantine-related articles, and it happens a lot, I know that's your work. Thank you for spreading knowledge about Byzantium through your excellent work. I wish I knew Portuguese, rather than half-guess from Spanish, to fully appreciate the amazing effort you are making. Hi,

I wondered if you could do me a big favour? I have recently extended the article on the Brazilian bandit Lampião. It would be a big help if you could check it for the accuracy of Brazilian placenames and Portuguese terms. Also I think my translation of Mulher Rendeira may not be all that good! Obrigado. Re: Roman Britain edit

Hi! I was lurking on Cplakidas's talk page, & saw the question you asked him earlier this month about the province of Valentia in Roman Britain. I used to be versed in that period of British history, so I can venture an answer to your question. The problem is that -- at least as far as the secondary literature extended 20 years ago -- no one was certain where Valentia should be placed in Britain. As Sheppard Frere explains in his book Britannia (revised edition, 1978), the pottery evidence eliminates the possibility that it should embrace the Scottish Lowlands, & confirms that the northern frontier was defined by Hadrian's Wall. "Our choice seems confined either to part of northern England or to North Wales," Frere continues, & he embraces the suggestion of Dr. J.C. Mann that the province of Britannia II was subdivided & that Carlisle became the capital of Valentia. (pp. 242f) You can check for any recent archeological discoveries that either confirm/contradict these theories by looking thru the latest volumes of Britannia which covers the subject, & is accessible thru JSTOR. Hope this answers your question. -- llywrch (talk) 05:53, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Saint Michael edit

We already have a page with St. Michael (Catholic). We don't need both this page and that page in "Catholic Saints". Benkenobi18 (talk) 01:30, 6 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I don't agree with the distinction either, but given that we have a page just for St. Michael (Catholic), there's no need for the other page to have the Catholic Saint tag. As it is we have 'St. Michael(Catholic) and Michael the Archangel. We should just have one in the category, not two. Benkenobi18 (talk) 01:39, 6 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

August 2014 edit

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Nicetius may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
 • , the second synod of Clermont (549), the synod of Toul (550), at which he presided, and the synod of Paris (555).

Disambiguation link notification for August 31 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Aeneas of Paris, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Byzantines. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
