Happy New Year!

Dear Jbmurray,

Wishing you a happy a new year, and very best wishes for 2009. Whether we were friends or not in the past year, I hope 2009 will be better for us both.

Kind regards,

Thank you for your input on the “My Opposition” article. This prime source historical document is not in the category of original research. Original research, in this case, would be if somebody wrote an essay about the diary and then created a Wikipedia article for the unpublished essay. Regarding verification, although the diary is not yet published as a book, it is the subject of the Canadian documentary, “My Opposition: the Diaries of Friedrich Kellner,”with close-up views of the diary while the narrator reads the contents. A filmed presentation of a document is not nearly as handy as a published book, but it does serve Wikipedia’s purposes regarding verification. Eventually, the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, which established the “Kellner Projekt,” will finish their work and bring the diary into print. Also, there are numerous newspaper and magazine articles about the diary, and these are given as references.

At present, the diary is in a similar category as the Barack Obama presidential acceptance speech, a speech which is not yet in a published book but verified by newspaper stories and online videos. So I wonder if it might be best to follow the example of the Obama speech article and use the Reference section in place of a Notes section. Or do you think we should place the Canadian documentary in the Reference section and leave the Notes section as you have created it? Thanks, Scott --Rskellner (talk) 16:14, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

JANUARY 17, 2009 - I have added the following information to the My Opposition reference section, which I believe resolves the issue. I look forward to your feedback. Rskellner (talk) 19:17, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi!

Dear Jon, thanks for your work on the List of Puerto Rican writers. I also really enjoyed reading your essay on Wikipedia in the classroom, as I've thought about doing that too. Very excited to see all you've done! See ya at the MLA some time? Muchos saludos.--Lawrlafo (talk) 15:22, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
