Welcome!
editHello, Jaymie Campbell, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and decide to stay. I'm Asilvering, your mentor. Each new Wikipedia account receives a mentor randomly taken from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! You can reach out to me on my talk page if you ever have any questions about editing. Here are some other links you may find helpful:

On the off-chance where I'm unavailable, you can ask further questions at the Teahouse, a friendly environment where new users can receive answers from experienced editors. You may also want to check out our public sandbox, where you can make test edits of any kind. Always remember to sign your posts with your username; you do so by placing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your message. Once again, welcome!

User pages
editI would appreciate if in the foreseeable future that noone edite my user page. If you have a problem with something on it, tell me and I will consider changing/removing the problematic material. Thank you and have a nice day. Jaymie Campbell (talk) 05:27, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- In response to your question on my talk page, you'll find the relevant information at Wikipedia:User pages#Ownership and editing of user pages. Editors are generally expected not to edit other people's user pages except to address significant policy concerns, and personal information (especially of minors) is one of them. Ultimately, user pages are still part of Wikipedia and not technically any single person's own personal space. Please try to see it this way, and don't take it personally. --Paul_012 (talk) 09:12, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- ok thanks I'll try not to take it personaly next time and once agian I apologize for my language Jaymie Campbell (talk) 19:54, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
Primefac
editI realise that I may have over shared infomation, however you had absolutely no right to change my user page without consulting me first. You seem like a good guy and I am sure you were just trying to help, but please do not do that agian without permission first. Thank you. Jaymie Campbell (talk) 05:36, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- The process is called "oversight", and it's explained in WP:Oversight. If you read and understand WP:Oversight, you will realize that Primefac (or whoever it was that suppressed the edits) absolutely did have the right to suppress material. (Yes, conceivably the person did not have the right, acted improperly, and is sure to get into big trouble from the other "oversighters". But as "oversighters" are vetted very carefully, this is extremely unlikely.) Incidentally, a user page is for the user to use for particular purposes and within a number of constraints; not for any purpose: please see WP:User pages about this. -- Hoary (talk) 08:29, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- My apologies for not leaving a note, I saw that asilvering already said what I was going to so I left it be. While user pages are 99.9% controlled by the user in question, sometimes changes need to be made by others. Primefac (talk) 10:59, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
Asilvering
editThank you for taking it upon yourself to become my mentor and helping me out when I need it. I cannot thank you enough Jaymie Campbell (talk) 05:40, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- I saw your message on the Teahouse and want to welcome you to Wikipedia. You are very fortunate. Asilvering is a fantastic mentor. Please soak in all they have to say about editing. There is a lot that new editors have to take in so a good practice is to assume that others, especially veteran editors like Primefac, know more about the mechanics of the encyclopedia than you do. It also may be more beneficial to respond in the form of a question rather than a demand. Just little things like that help to avoid conflict and are going to make this experience much more meaningful for you. Always stay learning and asking questions. I wish you all the success, Jaymie. Again, welcome to Wikipedia and good luck. --ARoseWolf 11:57, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- It's also inappropriate to insult other editors as you did here. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is a bit less tolerant of uncivil behavior than other places on the internet. 57.140.16.8 (talk) 13:54, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- To add to what RoseWolf and this IP editor have said, you might want to look at WP:CIVIL for a longer explanation. -- asilvering (talk) 14:33, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- No problem! By the way, if you want to be sure that a particular editor sees your message, you should ping them. The easiest way to do this is to type the @ sign and then type their name into the drop-down that should pop up. If you don't get a drop-down when you type the @, pinging that way won't work. You can ping someone instead by typing {{u|username}}, so long as it's in a comment (like this one) that ends with your signature. So Jaymie_Campbell will ping you, for example. -- asilvering (talk) 14:32, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
incivility
editI apologize for being uncivil about multiple things. I tend to have a short temper but I will try to leash it from now on. Jaymie Campbell (talk) 20:00, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ok. Don’t please do it again Ned1a Wanna talk? 22:44, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- Will do. Jaymie Campbell (talk) 00:08, 22 August 2024 (UTC)

IssueseditSo my bitch of a mother left me alone at our three story house for a week so she could go see her stupid ass concert and told me that she would pay me to take care of her animals and clean her fucking house which was filthy and I did everything she asked of me. But then she got back and the first thing that motherfucker did was inspect the house top to bottom to make sure it was clean and when she saw the dishes that I used that day stacked by the sink she told me that I wasn't getting paid. So now apparently I'm grounded for fucking back talking. And this is my fucking life. (Please excuse my language) Jaymie Campbell (talk) 04:29, 31 August 2024 (UTC) |
