Speedy deletion nomination of Vpyro edit
A tag has been placed on Vpyro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hi there, the first thing you need to do is establish the notability of this website. The way to do this is by providing sources from independent publications. Template:Vp infobox edit
I noticed that you created a template called Template:Vp infobox, which is not being used for anything. It looks like it might be an experiment. Can you confirm whether you intend to use this template for anything? If it was just an experiment, I can have it deleted. If you intend to use it, it should be moved to a more specific category than just Category:Wikipedia templates. That's a parent category that isn't supposed to have individual templates in it. Hi there, I had a quick look at your article as requested and while it generally seems quite well written, there are still quite a few problems. The main one, like before, is with referencing. There are only four citations, and they all point to the Vpyro forums. Notability needs to be established by including independent, relaible sources. Also, did you really create those logos yourself? If not, then you won't be able to use some of them as they wouldn't meet the fair-use criteria. BigDom 19:05, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the fact that the website has not been covered in other sources means that there is no chance of passing the general notability guidelines. So, as you say, at present Vpyro will not be allowed a Wikipedia article. There's nothing wrong with keeping the page you've worked on in your userspace in case the site becomes well known and notable in the future, but it shouldn't be moved into the main article space before then. I was just asking about the graphics, as it's unusual to see logos that have been released for free use. By the way, you can't work on making something copyrighted. All intellectual property (logos, photographs, paintings) is copyrighted as soon as it's made and by releasing them for use on Wikipedia, the copyright has been waived.
