alternate account edit

Hi! Do you have more than one Wikipedia account (i.e. "JawsinPA")? Please see WP:SOCK#NOTIFY for instructions on how to properly disclose your accounts. It's clear you are not trying to hide anything, but having two accounts is very problematic on Wikipedia as it is a frequent tactic of "sockpuppet" editors to create multiple accounts. You might want to abandon one of them unless you have a good reason for using two accounts. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 17:46, 19 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I see you tried to tag your user page to show two accounts, but it did not work. it;s slightly tricky but the thing to do is just change the text "main account" in the template to the name of your main account :.

Question edit

Since you only seem interested in editing a single subject, I thought it would be good to ask: do you have any connection to Pamela Longobardi? We have certain rules on conflict of interest. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 15:52, 12 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

December 2020 edit

  Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 17:40, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, Jaws525. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 17:40, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi there -- I thought I had indicated COI -- I do know the subject. I thought this was the kind of info you wanted.

Objective. I WAS TOLD BY jfarman that I could continue to edit. Anyway, the addition of awards was not uncited. I included urls.

Jaws525 (talk) 20:42, 23 December 2020 (UTC)jaws525Reply

  • WP:COI accounts often can not tell that their contributions are shaded. I don't see where you divulged your conflict. Jfarman wrote, Jaws 535, you can edit however you see fit. And by all means add more info - that's what Wikipedia is about. Just be sure that whatever you add is verifiable, neutral, and written in an encyclopedic tone. You've made two problematic edits since, adding content that was not supported by sources and was at least in part unencyclopedic in tone. Knowing the subject isn't itself a disqualification from contributing. But when other editors can easily discern COI, it's an issue. This includes personal or professional associations at both Dianna Cohen and Pamela Longobardi. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 21:00, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
