Nominating redirects for deletion

edit

The correct place to nominate redirects for deletion is Wikipedia:Redirects for deletion. However, I don't think Fioravanti (cola) is a harmful redirect, so there's no real need to delete it. TimBentley (talk) 04:44, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, Thanks! jmv 06:43, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vancouver photos

edit

Sure, no problem. As long as you took those pics yourself, it should be fine. Maybe if you want to add that many pics to the Vancouver Art Gallery article, you can use the <gallery> tag instead. Looks fine so far. Are you thinking of adding other Vancouver pics soon? :) Buchanan-Hermit™..SCREAM!!!.. ..  07:22, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Happy Editing!

U2faqs = a WP:RS???

edit

Are you trying to tell me that that site is a reliable source? The 'fact' is so not notable. Also, do not create an edit summary like this again. When I undid it did it you did not have a reference, thus your edit summ is misleading - I'll accept that this time you did not intend it to be misleading. thanks. --Merbabu 09:12, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Response: Granted, we are discussing extremely obscure details of an obscure entry, but I will stand by the spirit of my edit. Also granted, you've made numerous worthy edits/corrections/clarifications to the entry. While my 'summary' may have been 'ugly', I was primarily interested in preserving a detail I still hold to be relevant to the entry. By the video's own nature/content, it is an homage to an old B&W and/or silent film. I was in fact very specifically interested to learn if this video was inspired by an existing film, and a direct link to the film's wiki entry satisfies my curiosity in this regard. It may be a weak link, but at least it is verified in writing, in a related community (U2 fandom). In context, an obscure detail about a music video is not often going to be verifiable by the New York Times. So my edit may be weak, but not irrelevant. jmv 09:42, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 22:00, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

edit
Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:05, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
