Jared, just letting you know I edited your edit re Beauchamp - we were editing at the same time. No hard feelings. I incorporated part of what you'd said in the edit. A great goal - right net this time - and go the Socceroos v Japan! War-hammer 05:47, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jets squad (discussion copied here for ease of reading) edit

Please dont edit such copious ammounts of pages without starting a discussion on one of the talk pages about it first. Just because you cant find anything about it doesnt mean its not verifiable. Perhaps you could have just marked the pages as needing a reference. Jared Wiltshire 01:58, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

There is no citation supplied, and outside of WP there is nothing to go on but rumour. Google websearches and google news show nothing of the signings. WP and the squadron forum are the only sources available. Anyone living outside of Newcastle could conclude that it's all rubbish, like the signings of Collymore and Venables were, or even Livio Prieto. Don't believe everything that NUJFC or Newcastle media tell you.
Since your reverts am going through and adding [citation needed] tags instead. Dibo T | C 02:02, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not a problem. Bear in mind though that just because you cant find anything on the web about it, it doesn't mean its not true and not verifiable. And I think the Newcastle media is reliable enough, newspapers and news on tv is considered a source of information (AFAIK). Prieto and Barros both did agree to terms with us as reported by Newcastle media, and that was all that was ever claimed.Jared Wiltshire 02:14, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Agreeing to terms is not signing, but I'm happy to compromise - have no wish to be disruptive. If you're not sure on the rules on sources, check out WP:Verifiability. It's a clear and simply simple guide. Cheers, Dibo T | C 02:18, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well it does mean they have expressed they intent to play for the club. They just haven't been able to physically sign the contract papers (cause they're overseas). Anyhow, seems like we have it sorted. I'll try and add some references where I can. Jared Wiltshire 02:43, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
No wuckers, geronimo. Dibo T | C 02:50, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Can you whack in a page ref to the Drovandi pics in the Newc. Herald? It's certainly verifiable, I've now seen the pics. Pity the Newc. Herald site is so rubbish... Dibo T | C 07:10, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Jets FC pages edit

Heya mate, congrats on the latest win.

Due to some issues, my account currently can't move pages (as it isn't three days old yet). Could you possibly move the Jets' season pages to include the FC, and the list of players page to get rid of the dots, per the recent move of the main Jets page? Cheers, DB 11:04, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Flag Usage edit

Hey Jared, great job on the Jets pages. But to keep consistent with all the other football profiles I'm wondering if you can take the flags out of the infoboxes? I tried to use them too but I was told not to (you can see it on my talk page). But you can keep the ones used for National teams. eg. Danny Vukovic

Oh and do you happen to know who recieved the awards handed out by the Jets in the 2005-2006 season? Like, who got the Player's player of the year and Member's player of the year etc. Blackjanedavey (talk) 02:34, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Awards edit

I'm just adding an "Honours" headline to all the players pages, so that would include any awards they recieved at club level. eg. Damian Mori, Craig Moore. Blackjanedavey (talk) 03:44, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

'See also' section edit

Hi Jared, In those articles, the links in the section are also included in the intro section of the entire article, and the template at the bottom of the page. Since the templates entire purpose is to include links to related articles in a consistent manner across all A-League pages, I think that would suggest that the "see also" links are not warranted. -- Chuq (talk) 06:33, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Seán P. O'Connor edit

Could you please point out the vandalism to me? This has been sitting from last night, and I was inclined to despeedy based on what looks like an assertion of notability. Dlohcierekim 15:01, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for letting me know about that mate, I have been avoiding doing so since you fixed some of them up. Cheers! I'd also love some help on the new history page, like info on the association and NBN leagues etc. Dj backspace (talk) 22:38, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Jets attendance edit

Hi Jared, I noticed you revised my changes to the stadium info about breaking the record against rapid vienna. I changed it because I don't think it make sense as it is written. The attendance on 1-1-07 broke the 52 year old record, not the one in the semi final. What do you think? Dj backspace (talk) 02:45, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Srebre Delovski edit

A tag has been placed on Srebre Delovski requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of Srebre Delovski edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Srebre Delovski, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Article does not assert the subject's notability, no good sources exist to say anything except that this person exists and what his occupation is. No indication that he meets WP:N. CSD A11 was denied.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Firestorm (talk) 02:23, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Vote for Football as the Australian collaboration edit

Hi -- I recently nominated Wikipedia:WikiProject Football (soccer) in Australia/To-do for the Australian Collaboration of the Fortnight.

This WikiProject has been inactive for a long time and with the World Cup coming up, it would be good for football (soccer) articles to be in depth and comprehensive in Australia.

If you would like to support it, click here for the project page to cast your vote

Thanks! Australian Matt (talk) 02:56, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Luke Wilkshire Infobox Photo edit

I'm looking to get a few opinions on which photo is better for his profile photo and I noticed that the current version was uploaded by you, so I thought I'd come and get your opinion as well. The discussion I had elsewhere had people in favor of both options, with 2 people prefering photo2 and 1 person preferring photo1.

The two candidates are photo1 and photo2. I'm obviously not impartial here (but I'm trying) but the reason I replaced photo1 was due to (my opinion) the low quality/resolution and unappealing lack of sharpness. The change was replaced by an IP editor with a comment that was removed due to it being inappropriate. I'm not going to take anything decided personally, I want the best image included in the article regardless of which it is. Let me know what you think! Camw (talk) 14:27, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks, I'll go ahead and change it back - just wanted to make sure my inherent bias wasn't blinding me! Thanks for the category fix you made to a number of my images on commons as well, that's an area that I need to work on improving. Camw (talk) 03:06, 9 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Steven Gregory edit

The article Steven Gregory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG - hasn't been the subject of significant coverage in reliable sources. Fails WP:NSPORTS as he hasn't played or coached in a fully professional league or at international level

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
