Fair use rationale for Image:Archery 2008.gif

edit
  Resolved

Thanks for uploading Image:Archery 2008.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:38, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

You didn't need to open the talk page for this, it'll get speedy deleted when I'm done :P

I think these tables were created and added like this. I was impressed when I noticed that none of the 2004 gymnastics event pages existed and the main sport article was in that state! Anyway, I'm in the middle of cleaning up all of them, so I hope you don't mind if take full responsibility for this task ;) Cheers! Parutakupiu talk || contribs 21:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Take all the responsibility you want! I'll just have you know that I kicked it off with the men's trampoline page, just to set the record straight! Haha. Nice work so far. Well done. Jaredt21:55, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hehe. If you hadn't renamed the trampoline pages, I would've created new ones when I'd be duplicating them instead, so... thank YOU! ;) Parutakupiu talk || contribs 22:12, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I had thought you said on Andrwsc's page that you did realize there were trampoline pages! That would have been a catastrophe (on a minor scale)! Jaredt22:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for Image:Pan am 1951.jpg

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Pan am 1951.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Template:SCOTUSCase

edit

I noticed that you undid an edit of mine that cleaned up the code in Template:SCOTUSCase. I don't understand why. The image should be centered if it's using a <th> command, which it was. The extra code specifying bold and center was superfluous. It was certainly centered in my browsers. Was it different for you? --MZMcBride 16:36, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's odd. Because it was not centered in firefox, but then when I went to IE, it was centered. So I'm not sure how to fix this. I'm sure it would be fine if we just put it back to the way it was, because I think it was universally centered there. I had no idea that your edit actually centered the image on IE, so that's why I reverted you. I don't think you should change it back, though, if it doesn't show up right in all browsers. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Beach Volleyball 2008.gif)

  Resolved

Thanks for uploading Image:Beach Volleyball 2008.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:35, 16 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

You tagged this image as GFDL. However, since it's derivative of the official London logo, which is copyrighted, it must be used under fair use. If you could add a fair use rationale to the image, that'd be great. Ral315 » 05:43, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

PyeongChang 2014 Olympic bid

I'm confused by your rational on marking this redirect for Speedy Deletion, when you said that "If this page is a redirect, there would be no way for someone to create this page." Since that's not true, I've reverted the page back to the redirect. CitiCat 19:38, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

In other words, if the page is a redirect, a person would automatically think there is a page there, but it's actually a redirect. Instead, if there's a redlink, someone would see that and create a page to fill the redlink. It's worked in the past for me, so I figured it would be appropriate here. In short, these pages should be redirects, they should be their own pages, and the only way to get the message across is redlink them. Jaredt02:50, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's ok - I nuked it. It was redirecting back to the only page it was linked from, so totally useless for that reason. Andrwsc 02:54, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I copied the general code from your userpages. Now there are some changes which I would like to make but cannot due to the technologically challenged nature of my job. :o

Everything's fixed, except the FotD section. I personally think it's useless, so I'll probably take it off my page eventually. I never look at it. Anyhow, I also changed your (my) color scheme, because I don't want you to take everything of mine! I made it pink, but if you want to change it, ask me or go to User:Zamkudi/MAIN to change the color settings. Jaredt15:34, 12 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Naeeo. I like the FotD section, at least for the time being! I like the new colour scheme, could you change it to a lighter shade of pink? Go Dhokla! -- Zamkudi Dhokla queen! 08:07, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
