Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page FIFC worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please see WP:MOSLINK for examples of appropriate use of wikilinks. Cheers. Jameboy (talk) 23:31, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

You are correct that wikilinks are an important part of Wikipedia and are an excellent way to navigate between related pages. However the links need to be useful, relevant and in context - we do not just indiscriminately link any word. In the case of FIFC, linking 'refer' and 'of' does not add any value to the user, and there is no need to link 'FIFC' because it is the title of the article - we don't need to link it to itself. Please have a look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links), which is an excellent guide to what to link and what not to link. Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 17:29, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) is also worth reading, as it gives guidance on how disambiguation pages should be formatted. --Jameboy (talk) 17:43, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
