They have proven especially vulnerable to vandalism and tampering, and cannot be verified because the terminology of "hits" and "blockbusters" is itself subjective, ill-defined, and open to different interpretations. When documenting box office performance, solid numbers are the preferred measure, but they absolutely must be accompanied by a reference to the source where you found them; otherwise, someone else will inevitably come along and alter them.
