List of street artists

edit

Hi. Please write an article on the street artist first, before adding them to List of street artists. There really is no point in them being on the list if the reader can't click through to an article to read about them, and the existence of the article demonstrates that they are notable. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 15:41, 24 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:48, 25 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • I've blocked you because after taking a look at your edits I can't really see where you've made that many beneficial edits. Most of your edits have been things like this, this, this, and this, which looks like pretty deliberate disruption. You recently created an article that was at best written in a humorous tone but at worst suggests that you're here to do more nonsense. Even if you didn't think that your edits were all that bad, adding intentional nonsense is still vandalism and still requires that someone fix them, which is time they could've spent on something else. You might be able to be unblocked, but you'd have to explain why you did what you did and why it is seen as disruptive. You'd also have to give us an example of how you would edit Wikipedia in a beneficial fashion and overall convince us that we can trust you to make good edits in the future. So far you've really not made that many edits that could be seen as non-vandalism and even then they were still a little disruptive, although I'll assume that you might have made these edits to Rocket League in good faith. • This is kind of why it's never a good idea to vandalize Wikipedia because if you do decide that you want to start editing more seriously, it can come back to haunt you in the end. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:57, 25 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hello fellow human, Like all humans we run a trail and error process, I have run mine on Wiki and have learned where the edges of the envelope lie. I would like to continue to use and edit pages when I have gained enough skills and using the sandbox with help from fellow users I fellow I will be able to add to this community. the attempts I made back in 2015 where I now see false and my attempts at adding some local information to the street artist page were "toy". I will hopefully gain better skills and after getting someone to crit my work make better edits in the future. thank you edit grammar :) Jamiewazere (talk) 19:30, 29 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your edits in 2016 were no better than those in 2015. There simply are no useful contributions from you whatsoever, and some that raise concerns. Huon (talk) 22:31, 29 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

I don't think you understand, I am a creative person I realise that this isn't the format for that now. I would like to highlight that if I was a vandal or a troll I would have caused more upsets than once every other year. I would like the next admin to consider giving me one more chance and then if I am seen to be wrecking what is a very unique platform then by all means delete me. I just don't want to go to the effort of VNP etc to enjoy this site. ty for your time enjoy tomorrow Jamiewazere (talk) 22:52, 30 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

As per the comment below. If you start taking this seriously and address your actual behaviour that got you blocked, then you might stand a chance of being unblocked. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:16, 31 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • The problem is, you were already sort of given a chance when you weren't blocked outright for your prior edits. You claim that you're here to edit responsibly, but your basic first edits of 2016 were to create a joke entry. It also doesn't matter how frequently you vandalized, the point is that you still vandalized and we've had plenty of people who are infrequent vandals. You don't seem to really understand why this was bad or really why an article calling a person a haggis would be seen as unhelpful on a website aimed at providing encyclopedic entries. You still don't seem to be taking any of this seriously, which is why you're still blocked as of this post. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 08:36, 31 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hello, I don't' want this to become a personal conversation, but when you say I have been given a chance before ( I would have if I were told) or when you don't understand colonial phrases like toy or haggis, then it's hard to try and express my views or something that I'll find you will relate to. Yes I could document my known edits and reasons why each of my edits were not even close to being ready for this web site, but we know this. I am trying to say that all edit and changes will be added through sandbox or talk pages ( which i did not know before). Through the system that you have all had time to come accustom too is something I have only grasped in the last week. I for example have a large knowledge of Livingston, West Lothian and personal knowledge on it's skate park plus locals that have become world stars because of this. The street artist's that may have not had the fame that hits the news like Banksy or alike. Please understand I will go through what I know are processes of WIKI and wait until I have confirmation of credit for my edits. May I ask is there a time limit for my request of unblocking? as it may become easier to use other methods rather then convince one admin that did not fully understand my attempted edits ( I know they we not up to standard) . Note encyclopaedia is information on many subjects or on many aspects of one subject, the more input the better the encyclopaedia Jamiewazere (talk) 20:06, 31 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Just because you have a large knowledge of West Lothian, that does not necessarily equate to being able to write about it in an encyclopedic manner. The 'world stars' you mention, have they received significant coverage in reliable sources? You seem to acknowledge that the street artists you tried to add didn't have significant coverage in a reliable sources. Otherwise, I agree with Tokyogirl79 in that you seem to be trying to shift blame onto us for not understanding your slang or your joke edits. PhilKnight (talk) 00:45, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • I have to point out that you don't have to convince "one admin that did not fully understand my attempted edits". You have to convince one of several separate admins that, if they had been in my place, would have almost certainly blocked you for the exact same reasons. I'm concerned that earlier in this unblock request you claim that you understand the reasons for your block and can even list them out individually, yet later in the same request your writing gives off the impression via the "one admin that did not fully understand my attempted edits" that the reason for your block was that I couldn't understand the reasoning and logic behind your edits - that they weren't vandalism but just you expressing your viewpoints and using slang. The average person coming on to Wikipedia is at least passing aware that the site isn't a place to use slang terms and joke around. To me this shows that you still aren't accepting responsibility for your edits, despite you trying to say otherwise. I'm sorry, but your edits don't show that you're here to edit Wikipedia in a responsible manner and you trying to shift the blame, even partially, by saying that I didn't understand your slang doesn't really show that you should be trusted, given that you don't really have any edits (or edit summary comments) to really show that we should believe otherwise. My recommendation for any admin coming into this is that if you decline this (which I heavily recommend) that you revoke talk page access or alert myself and I can do it.
