With respect to the article on Peter Borish, neither factual errors nor inadequate notability is a reason for speedy deletion. All that's necessary is that enough be indicated that there is some degree of reasonable importance--and irrespective of the disputed material his chairmanship of OneChicago is quite enough indication.

You will need to use AfD if you wish it deleted. But he might possibly be considered notable there--notability can be because or past as well as present activities; it will depend upon whether better references can be found providing substantial non-PR coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources.

If there's an error, the best course would be to fix it, giving a citation. DGG ( talk ) 22:42, 26 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Repost of Maryse Selit

edit

A tag has been placed on Maryse Selit requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Sorry VQuakr, I had simply cut and pasted the last post (which was yours I guess), so I did not have to retype and must have inadvertently left that in there. Sorry again and thanks! Jamescur (talk) 08:07, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please try to stay within the top three tiers of this hierarchy.

Hello, I'm Ad Orientem. I noticed that you made a comment on the page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jean Shafiroff that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia needs people like you and me to collaborate, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Note...I'm actually not deleting the comment. But I would encourage you to do so or perhaps strike it out. You are new here so some tolerance is made, but please exercise some restraint. If you believe another editor is acting improperly there are ways to address the matter. However directly attacking other editors can result in administrative sanctions. It's your call, but maybe you need to back away from this discussion if you have reached the point where you are leaving these kinds of comments. Anyways... just some friendly advice. • Yes. I have removed a comment and deleted it from the article history: see WP:OUTING. That comment was not acceptable. In addition, the nominator was not blocked by one of Epeefleche's sock puppets: they were blocked by me, for making what was very obviously a legal threat, and that's unacceptable too. Regardless of the merits of the article and the arguments made, it is imperative that you keep within what's acceptable--I could block you already for the personal attacks you made, so please consider this a warning.
