Hello James, I'm glad you've decieded to look for adoption. I hope I can help you become aquainted to Wikipedia. In regards to your questions, creating userboxes are easy as I make them all the time. However, Wikipedia already has hundreds of userboxes already pre-created by other users. From food likes to movie dislikes, this page has you covered. Select different userboxes to spice up your user page from the various categories, so you can save all that time creating one. But! If you want to make a custom one, you can scroll down that page and the coding for a new userbox is available. Have fun!
Adding sources and citations edit
Adding sources to information you add to a article is really easy. Simply write the material and after the last sentence use the reference brackets, <ref>SOURCE URL GOES HERE, TITLE OF URL</ref> , at the end. The source will appear automatically on the reference list at the bottom on the article or if it's a new article and you want to create a reference list, simply create a section entitled References with the body containing {{reflist|1}} .
