Welcome! edit

Hello, Catanofficial, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! v/r - TP 23:14, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your username edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Catanofficial", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87". Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. v/r - TP 23:14, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Reality edit

We only cover things here that the real world has recognized. If you cannot provide references outside of this fantasy to the importance of it, you cannot make an article on it. Also, you cannot write about a place in a game as if it were real. If you do not understand the difference, you are wasting everyone's time here. John from Idegon (talk) 00:25, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dear Sir, I am going to find the references. I will find official news sources, reports, etc. Thank You

Kind Regards Jamesatcatan (talk) 21:02, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

What exactly do you call an "official" news source? What you need is a plain every day news source, examples being: The Daily Mail, The New York Times, NBC News, The BBC. John from Idegon (talk) 03:36, 14 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I just have one question, how come pages such as the Netherlands and others have few links? Just wondering? Jamesatcatan (talk) 15:42, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Seriously? The Netherlands has over 140 references, even though as a real place, an article could be included with just one. Look, I am going to tell you this just once. This is not a game. This is a real encyclopedia that covers real things in the real world. If you continue to waste serious editors time with your silly fantasy, I will be asking for you to be blocked. If you want to write about something to do with a game, perhaps the wikiproject concerned with that could help you. If you want to continue to act as though your imaginary place is somehow real, I will take action. John from Idegon (talk) 16:49, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

John,

Word of advice, people usually do not take agressive manner kindly. Furthermore I accept that this is a real encyclopedia and I was simply questioning, for your actions in return was simply put outrageous. Please do not return the comment on my page and I personally will be asking for you to be blocked.

Kind Regards,

Jamesatcatan (talk) 17:26, 15 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dear Sir,

I am sorry you feel this way. I would like to point out that I have brought this matter of a previous arguement between yourself and I to the main Administrators of Wikipedia. I have since to await a response. Jamesatcatan (talk) 19:34, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

May I just ask why it has been deleted in such a hurry? Jamesatcatan (talk) 19:37, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

User talk:John from Idegon I asked a question!

I do not have to respond to any question you or anyone else may have on your timetable. I am a volunteer, just like you. I only nominated your article for deletion. Click the red link above and it will take you to a page with the details of who deleted it. contact the administrator who deleted it if you like. But as I have told you all along, a place that is only imaginary is not going to have an article on wikipedia. Please don't waste any more of my time with your imaginary kingdom. Thanks. John from Idegon (talk) 20:12, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dear Sir,

I think you are a very rude person, as I have previously stated and proved with images, it is 'NOT' an imaginary Kingdom nor is it in my head, Kingdom of Catan is an actual place, with actual people living there! Jamesatcatan (talk) 21:02, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

You showed 0 reliable sources on the article you created. If it is a real place, what are it's geographic coordinates? what nations recognize it? What newspapers have written about it? Like I said...imaginary! John from Idegon (talk) 22:51, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

June 2014 edit

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Catan (disambiguation). Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. John from Idegon (talk) 22:59, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
