McBusted

edit

Hi, I've noticed that you keep persisting to put Get Over It under McBusted's singles, despite me moving it to their other charted songs. Although they intended to release the song as a single, and indeed filmed a music video for it, they later decided not to release it. James Bourne has confirmed this on Twitter. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.168.102.38 (talk) 23:39, 10 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

edit

Hi Wikipedia

I am good and researching Bands & Artists update to date with New Music

I have added about roughly 50 changes to wikipedia on New Music that is on Youtube not Not on Wikipedia.

My Question is I have researched A band Called the Vamps and Someone is Keep Editing My New Added Stuff which is True, that I have found on the Internet.

What I found is That There are 3 Promotional Singles & That's It Which are 1. Dangerous from the Meet the Vamps Album is a Promotional Single & 2. What I found is that The Music Video for Cheater is a Promotional Single Not a Single & also 3. Stolen Moments is a Promotional Single from the Album. All Three of these Should have there own Table with the Year With It.

And Also A Different Table Should & Is to Be Called Soundtracks, or Soundtrack Singles. There Are 2 Soundtracks for 2 Films & they are Hurricane which is from Alexander the Great, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Film & Kung Fu Fighting from the Kung Fu Panda 3 Film Are Not Promotional Singles, They Are SOUNDTRACKS Okay, So Please put them into a different Table with the World Soundtracks above them.

P.S I do not know how to make a Table with Singles & Music Videos, with the Directors and they Year Show, So Please could you tell me how to make one and putting the information in Please.

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Hello James, adding images is somewhat tricky for reasons of copyright. Wikipedia only accepts images of living persons when the copyright holder has released them under a free license that allows everybody to re-use and modify them for any purpose, including commercial purposes. If you, personally, have taken the photo and it hasn't been published elsewhere, you can simply use the Upload Wizard at the Wikimedia Commons to upload the image.
If it's your work but has been published elsewhere before, we need proof that you are indeed the copyright holder (or, alternatively, that the copyright holder indeed has released the image under a free license). See WP:Donating copyrighted content on how to provide such proof.
If the image is not your own work, you will need to make sure that the copyright holder is okay with the image being released under a free license, and you need to provide proof of that. See WP:Requesting copyright permission on how to ask others to release images under a free license.
Once the image is uploaded, you can add it to the infobox; you'll want to use Template:Infobox musical artist instead of the more general Template:Infobox person. The template page explains the available parameters and gives examples of use. Huon (talk) 22:13, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
James there was a big problem with this draft: you had copied almost all the words from the singer's website at http://www.lessonsfromcalifornia.com/bio.html. That is bad because the tone was too promotional for an encyclopedia article but, much more importantly, it was a copyright violation, which could give Wikipedia big legal problems. We can't have copyright material anywhere in Wikipedia, not even in draft pages.
Please do not copy stuff into Wikipedia - read Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources. You have to write in your own words, not copy other people's
Rather than delete the whole page, I have removed the sentences that were copied, leaving the framework of the article for you to fill in. I also changed the infobox from "Infobox person", which was producing a lot of error messages, to "Infobox singer", which has the parameters you were using. Please help me with... The Famous Singer has done a lot of singles in a few Countries, BUT You forgot To In The UK/United Kingdom into the the Rest of the Countries You Did Wikipedia.

Please help me Put the UK Single I got from this website http://www.officialcharts.com/artist/3674/enrique-iglesias/ where his singles made it into the UK And You Decided Not to Put It In, Wikipedia, Think Again, If he didn't come into the UK or His Singles in the UK, then it wouldn't be in the Official charts at all BUT IT is.

Please help me put the UK With the other Countries on the Title and I have tried to put it with the USA/USA Latin but somewhere is going wrong and also I have put the Chart numbers in where the UK Singles by Enrique Iglesias where in as well Okay.

Please Do Not fail me, Please fix it for me, that is all I ask for. I will be checking to see if it is fixed and sorted in the table.

Thank You Kind Regards

James Duggins (talk) 15:24, 9 October 2016 (UTC)James DugginsReply

I'd ask you to please not attempt technically complicated edits you don't know how to perform. I will fix the Enrique Iglesias article, but it's almost easier to re-do it all over again than to try and fix your edits. It seems you also misunderstand how Wikipedia works: We're all volunteers, and claiming that "You Decided Not to Put It In" is about as accurate as if I claimed that until you changed your mind earlier today, you had also "decided not to put it in".
Specific problems with your edit include the following:
  • You added two headers for the UK singles chart
  • There's a broken <ref> tag
  • For the other header, you cited the Australian charts again
  • You got the name of the chart in the link(s) wrong
  • You didn't expand the "Peak chart positions" heading by another column
  • You added the chart positions for the UK chart at the very end, not at the position corresponding to the heading(s)
  • The code for that last column of chart positions you added is not the correct one.
Tables aren't quite easy; you can find a help page for editing them at Help:Table, but it might be easier to ask for help first instead of breaking things and then asking others to clean up. Huon (talk) 16:50, 9 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please could You 1 of You help me put Lindsey Stirling Hold My Hand Featuring ZZ Ward in 2016 in the Singles Chart which is from the album Brave Enough and the Newest Single after Hold my Hand which is Lindsey Stirling Love's Just a Feeling Featuring Rooty from the Album Brave Enough, Which came out on the 3rd March 2017.

I am Very Confused How to put Lindsey Stirling Hold My hand with the featured Artist and Lindsey Stirling Love's Just a Feeling with the Featured Artist in 2017 BUT They are From the Same Album because I have tried to put it in so many ways of putting the Love's Just a Feeling in 2017 Section and Hold My Hand Featuring ZZ Ward in 2016 in that Year as well from the Same Album and it is Hard and Confusing how to lay it out.

I genuinely, honestly, have no idea what you're asking. None of the pages you're working on are nominated for deletion, and Wikipedia has no page length limits (within reason) so I don't see why you can't fit everything on one album page. If I've missed something terribly obvious, feel free to change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}} and expand further on what you're looking for. Primefac (talk) 21:22, 9 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
This is about the tables in the "Discography" section of the Tyler Ward article. I see no possible benefit of a table with a single entry over a bulleted list with that same entry, particularly when there is also no charting information whatsoever. I have removed all the non-information from the tables but left the tables themselves in place since you seem to value the format so much. That said, iTunes is not a reliable source, and "if you don't believe me look at iTunes" is not a line of reasoning we should employ on Wikipedia. If such tables have been removed from other articles before, possibly for a lack of sources, those same reasons for removal may apply here, too. If you are unsure whether the content you intend to add is indeed an improvement of the article, I strongly suggest that the next time, you ask about that before spending an hour or two on formatting content that might be removed again. You may also want to take a look at Help:Table; that page explains how to use the rowspan parameter that governs whether a single cell, such as the one giving an album name, extends over several rows within the table, such as for seven singles from the same album. May I ask what your edit was about here? Specifically where you add,

"Wiki, This is Not a threat okay and don't forget I am Autistic, I just want to be helpful and putting these in just like the 1st cars Soundtrack did in the 1st Cars film with the reference to the artists as well. Please don't delete this above or the track listing okay. I will be watching.
Wiki STOP deleting these Changes and STOP deleting the Tracks Listing Below Okay, all I am doing is putting the Singles and Soundtracks from the Cars 3 Album, So that People and Customers and Buy the Soundtrack Album from Itunes, just like the 1st Cars Film, with all of the 3 Singles and Soundtracks same as referencing to the right handside Before and after the Track listing to put it on, It is Not that hard like the 1st cars film with their soundtracks okay and Then if you will co-operate with me then I and You the rest of you user's can Leave It Alone Okay - from James Duggins - Wiki User. P.S It took me ages to do this Please Do Not Delete this okay."

If you have a dispute, you need to discuss it civilly on the article's talk page with those involved - this is a required part of Wikipedia's guidelines on proper dispute resolution. Please do not add content like this to articles again - it's disruptive to the project and doesn't help us resolve issues or improve the article. Please help me with...

Hello Other Wiki User

Happy New Year in 2018

I need some help please by I added Maggie Lindemann in the featured Artist Table and everything is fine and is fixed and sorted, But Unfortunately The end of the table where I put the UK Singles chart at the top of the title, I try to put the album Night & Day: Day Edition from The Vamps where Maggie Lindemann was called Personal in the Album Title section, but everytime I try to it it the UK Singles chart is where the Album is meant to do and it keeps doing it all the time and here is the attached Link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maggie_Lindemann#As_featured_artist.

Please other user, Please may you put the Night & Day: Day Edition under the Album Title in the Maggie Lindemann Discography, please make sure you Don't set caught under the UK Singles chart Title where it should Not be in the featured artists section, which I have made, Please Do Not delete it and it is 100% true as well?

James Duggins

I'm sorry, but I had to revert that. I see no indication that the information you gave there is accurate; it's certainly not supported by the cited sources. In particular, the Australian chart doesn't even have a #76, and the Norwegian doesn't say Personal ever charted. Huon (talk) 22:56, 22 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

They Were There, A Hero's Documentary (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, They Were There, A Hero's Documentary (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 19:35, 17 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, James Duggins. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, Draft:They Were There, A Hero's Documentary (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it. — JJMC89(T·C) 02:59, 18 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! First: Wikipedia does not go by what anybody believes to be true (or even what is true). It goes by what can be verified from reliable secondary sources. Primary sources, self published sources and blog or fan site sources are completely unacceptable as they are not considered reliable (see WP:VERIFY).
Second: It is not my (or anybody else's) responsibility to do any research at all to support your edits. That responsibility belongs to you alone (see WP:BURDEN).
Please not that continued reinsertion of improperly sourced material can land you with a block for disruptive editing. 86.186.4.139 (talk) 15:29, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Just do research like me with us making a deal and I will leave you alone okay and You will Leave me alone okay. James Duggins (talk) 17:08, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia is not a host for advertising. Bands, or any one else do not have the right to advertise anything, "...so Customers [sic] will see them". Discographies can only be included if they are notable and the information is sourced from reliable third party sources. I might agree that one of the records is borderline notable. If a record didn't chart then it is generally regarded as un-notable. But such information must still be properly sourced and a sales site is not usually regarded as reliable but at least it does say that it is or was available.
I have made two records in the 1970's, but I am not self centred enough to consider that Wikipedia would even consider featuring them in an article (and certainly wouldn't have an article on me!). I was astonished to discover that Amazon currently sells one of them, so that just goes to prove that Amazon is not a reliable source of notability.
Of the sources that you quoted, only two are considered reliable truly third party sources. If you are unable figure out why the others are not, then Wikipedia editing is not the hobby for you. YouTube is particularly not allowed as the information is as unreliable as Wikipedia (precisely because anyone can edit it).
Most of your sourcing was presented as in-line URLs which are not permissible in article space. The only deal here is that if you insert improperly sourced claims, they will be deleted in accordance with standard Wikipedia policy (and any user has carte blanche to do this). If you continue to insert improperly sourced material you will be liable to be blocked from editing, also in accordance with Wikipedia policy. 86.186.4.139 (talk) 14:22, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
A brief talk page discussion confirms that the sources that you have used for the discography are not allowed . 86.186.4.139 (talk) 18:23, 30 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
