Feedback on Article Draft

edit

You've picked a topic near and dear to my heart! And also (I'm biased) much-needed, as there's been a lot of recent information that's missing. Perusing your reference list, it looks up-to-date and diverse, so great work there.

Your draft text is coming together really nicely. I would work next on formatting to add references and links to other relevant pages (e.g., "Keystone species"). Also, a quick note about tone: your writing is excellent, but make sure you're writing your page in the "encyclopedia" style -- check out this guide, which includes details on paragraph lengths, tone, and structure. I found this to be the hardest part of learning how to write for Wikipedia -- it's different form a scientific paper! You can find it here.

Send me a message when you're ready for my final review! IceAgeDoc (talk) 21:52, 23 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Evaluating an Article

edit

Really nice, thoughtful comments on the Jamaican Geography page. You're paying attention to all the right things -- flow, language, references, biases/neutrality, potential issues, etc. You also identified important areas for improvement, with an eye toward what was most needed. Your evaluations were all spot on, and I'm looking forward to your final assignment! Are you planning on developing this page, or did you have some other possible ideas?

As an aside, it's also good to see that you have a handle on editing and formatting (e.g., headings). Your evaluation section is really clear. IceAgeDoc (talk) 01:11, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
