February 2021

edit

Hello, I'm JurassicClassic767. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Tyrannosaurus, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. JurassicClassic767 (talk | contribs) 18:03, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Jakegaming7788, the problem isn't that we think your information is wrong; the problem is that new information of this kind needs inline citations to supporting reliable sources, for verifiability. Otherwise anyone could post anything on Wikipedia (and, believe me, some people try to.) I tracked down your source on deinosuchus bite force and put the necessary inline citation on this information, but you really need to do this yourself. Google Scholar can be a real help here; it helped me find your cite, and then I was able to use the DOI of the article to generate the inline citation. There are help pages at Wikipedia --JurassicClassic767 gave you links to some -- that explain how to do this. I'll leave it to you to practice this by placing an inline cite for the information that it was primarily juveniles being preyed on. --Kent G. Budge (talk) 18:34, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ok thank you kent i will reasearch this some more and try to do this from now on thank you for bringing this to my attention (talk) 18:39, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Status

edit

Jake, please STOP adding a status to the magpie article. That article is about many magpie species. A single status will never be correct for all of them. The status is at each species' article, which is appropriate. Feel free to ping me if you have any questions. MeegsC (talk) 16:51, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Same for kingfisher, and pheasant, and any other general article about a group of species. In fact, can you please go back and remove the status from all such articles that you've added them to? MeegsC (talk) 16:55, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

yeah sure sorry about that. Jakegaming7788 (talk) 17:05, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I've noticed you've been doing this for quite a few different animal groupings. IUCN Red List conservation status is only at the species level, and not for groups of species. Cougroyalty (talk) 17:01, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
oh ok thank you for telling me i will make sure only to add it to single species now Jakegaming7788 (talk) 17:05, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Jake, go and read Wikipedia:Consensus. You are the only person who thinks that these articles should exist, while 5 people think that they shouldn't. I'm sorry for getting angry with you, but you seem not to care that the majority of editors disagree with you. If you continue to ignore consensus I will take you to WP:ANI. Hemiauchenia (talk) 15:22, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

ok maybe it is edit waring seeing as two people are saying this now sorry for that :/ could we have the redirect but then have a basic article underneath the redirect just if anyone wants to look at it, so it will redirect it to the main article but if anyone clicks to go on carchnae or gigani then they can have a look? Jakegaming7788 (talk) 15:28, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

there's a discussion going on on the topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Dinosaurs/Archive 34#Carcharodontosaurinae and Giganotosaurini if you'd like to join in   User:Dunkleosteus77 |push to talk  15:34, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for being mean :(. If you want to discuss them then Carcharodontosauridae is the place to do it. Hemiauchenia (talk) 15:34, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ceratosaurus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Oxfordian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
