How to release material to GFDL

edit

Copyright owners who submitted their own work to Wikipedia: If you submitted work to Wikipedia which you had previously published (especially online), and your submission was marked as a potential infringement of copyright, stating that you are the copyright holder of the work on the article's talk page helps, but will not likely prevent deletion. It is sufficient to:

  • Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication.
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation.

These articles were advertisements, and probably about non-notable objects. It is likely that even if you do release this content to Wikipedia then it will be deleted for one of those reasons. For more about what qualifies as notable, and what makes a Wikipedia article, see Wikipedia:Notability and WP:NOT. --Fang Aili talk 18:09, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fender?

edit

I've lost track of you now. Who is Fender? User:Firstact created First Act Limited Edition Guitar Series- Lola, First Act Limited Edition Guitar Series- Delia, and First Act Limited Edition Guitar Series- Sheena, all which were deleted as copyvios. --Fang Aili talk 18:19, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

There are articles on particular Fender guitar types, such as Fender Mustang, but as far as I know those articles are not copyright violations and do not read like advertisements. I don't know if the Lola guitar would be considered "notable", but first of all you will have to write an article that 1)is not a copyright violation, and 2)is written in an encyclopedic manner. --Fang Aili talk 18:58, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
