Speedy deletion of Struers

edit

A tag has been placed on Struers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ironholds 19:25, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Metalog guide

A tag has been placed on Metalog guide, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Struers

edit

A tag has been placed on Struers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add hangon on the top of Struers and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bearian (talk) 19:45, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Struers, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a hangon tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Rhebus (talk) 19:45, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:01.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:01.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:07, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:01.JPG, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from www.struers.com/repliset. As a copyright violation, Image:01.JPG appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:01.JPG has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Image:01.JPG and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
 • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Image:01.JPG with a link to where we can find that note.
 • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Image:01.JPG.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Wizard191 (talk) 17:39, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

To avoid confusion: I've moved your talk page comment from Talk:Image:01.JPG to Image talk:01.JPG, which is the real talk page for the image. Regards --Oxymoron83 23:23, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Magnetic disc system for polishing.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Brianga (talk) 11:40, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your Images

Hi Jacobhh, After checking I've deleted all of your image uploads except for Image:01.JPG. While three of them were corrupted and non-viewable, the rest where marked as GFDL but were from the commercial site: www.struers.com. If you want to upload these you will need to make sure that the OTRS system has received an email from the copyrightholder, as was done for Image:01.JPG. Until this permission is recorded, hosting the images here is a clear breach of the image owners copyright - Peripitus (Talk) 12:52, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Peripipus, like with 01.JPG, I am the copyright owner of the images. Please do not delete my images.

Br Jacob

Jacob - you need to have this permission emailed to the OTRS system before Wikipedia can host them - this email should come from the struers company, releasing this images under the GFDL or another free licence. The other option is for the company to, where the images are displayed on the website, note that they are licenced under the GDFL or another free licence. Myself or another administrator can undelete the images easily once this permission is filed, or the website reflects that the images are free (by Wikipedia's definition). - Peripitus (Talk) 13:12, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok. I have sent an email informing about copyright.

Jacobhh (talk) 13:20, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you - hopefully someone there will read the email soon and I'll get the images setup as for 01.JPG - Peripitus (Talk) 00:32, 7 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I will upload the pictures again according to mail from Wikipedia (see below).

Jacobhh (talk) 12:05, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

To add the picture to a page:

1. Edit the page you want the image to appear on, and include in the place you want the image to appear:

File:(Filename you chose in step 4).(extension of file, case sensitive)
Caption text

2. Save the page with an edit summary that describes what you did (e.g. "added image")

You might also find our editing instructions (<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:How_to_edit_a_page#Images>) and extended page on using images (<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Extended_image_syntax>) helpful.

Please email me back when you have done so and tell me the names of the images. Without that I cannot mark the images as having received permission.

Yours sincerely, Wilhelm Schnotz

Hello! I'm looking at the product image included in Nondestructive testing, and wondering what replication techniques have to do with system analysis. Seems to me like troubleshooting an object by attempting to re-make it with a different (castable) single-grain material would ruin the point. Can you add some content regarding why this image is relevant? Thanks! Tythos Eternal 06:29, 23 January 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by TythosEternal (talkcontribs)

Hello again. Please provide a relevant explanation for the image you inserted into the NDT page describing the photo and how it is relevant to NDT. I will be removing this image within a week if no explanation is given.

Thanks,

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Micropol.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:51, 12 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 14:51, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hallo, I have mailed copy right information to permissions at wikimedia dot org.

Proposed deletion of Holger F. Struer

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Holger F. Struer, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Does not assert notability per WP:BIO; specifically doesn't have a secondary source that asserts notability.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Holger F. Struer

edit

I have nominated Holger F. Struer, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Holger F. Struer. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Wizard191 (talk) 23:19, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I can see your point. However, after the re-writing and adding of third party references I think that the article fully lives up to the policy of wikipdia. Jacobhh (talk) 20:21, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
