Peer Review Comment: I like your team’s idea of planning to include “slacktivism” to the “Ice Bucket Challenge” Wikipedia page. In the area under which you listed some of your possible sources, I see that you are planning on using a New York Times article by Kristof Nicholas as a source for 'slacktivism.' You could also use Yochai Benkler and Helen Nissenbaum’s “Common-Based Peer Production and Virtue” which was published in the Journal of Political Philosophy and was one of our assigned class readings toward the beginning of the semester as a source (if needing more information on 'slacktivism'). Also, if interested, a further topic you could add could be to include a timeline in terms of how the raising of awareness of specific topics, such as ASL, has changed over time especially with the use of social media leading up to the 'Ice Bucket Challenge.' Thank you for the suggestions! We will definitively look for more established sources than the news articles currently cited. The timeline idea is interesting and we're also looking at adding antecedents to fundraising for health-related causes to the article. Jackyliang (talk) 23:24, 29 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
