June 2015 edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Love Island (2015 TV series). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. ThisIsDanny (talk) 15:15, 9 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

SCD series 13 edit

Why did you remove my edit. I am really annoyed by this! I am NOT a vandal nor have I ever been one. I am a reputable editor on these wiki pages. NaThang0P (talk) 12:56, 3 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Because the show hasn't started and it's not yet needed.

But you have just done it all yourself so the deletion of my table was not really needed was it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NaThang0P (talkcontribs) 13:31, 3 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yes as it was in a different style to the Week 1 table.

Disambiguation link notification for October 18 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tristan MacManus, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Charleston and Salsa. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Replaceable fair use File:Brendan O'Carroll.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Brendan O'Carroll.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Note that since the subject is a living person, a free image could reasonably be found. kelapstick(bainuu) 20:53, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you look back at previous years, you will see as the series happened it included the celebrity's full name in the side bar. Look back at previous edits, an IP changed this and it was not reverted back. ThisIsDanny (talk) 16:51, 13 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

November 2015 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! (UK series 15). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
I'm warning you now not to do this again or you could end up being blocked, and we want to avoid that. To resolve the issue, please go on the talk page and discuss it, rather than just reverting. Thanks for your co-operation Class455fan1 (talk) 09:33, 14 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Ways to improve Got What It Takes? edit

Hi, I'm Denver20. Jackstarrzz, thanks for creating Got What It Takes?!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please link these to some other links.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Denver F. 16:55, 24 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

February 2016 edit

Your addition to List of Mrs. Brown's Boys episodes has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Diff: [1] Content you added in this edit can be found here and here and so on. Point is: you didn't write it. This is plagiarism, which is academically dishonest and lazy. If you add lifted prose like this again, I will interrupt your editing privileges. In addition, you made changes to dates without providing references. Please don't submit unsourced content again. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:23, 24 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

It also seems fairly obvious to me that you're editing while logged out, especially since you restored problematic copyright violations at List of Mrs. Brown's Boys episodes that were submitted from IP 94.4.211.125. Since you did this after I'd protected the article, it looks an awful lot like you are using an autoconfirmed account to skirt past article protection, which would constitute sockpuppetry. Please don't do this. It will result in both your account and your IP being blocked. Since you have an account, you should only be editing from that account. Thanks. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Brendan O'Carroll and wife.jpeg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Brendan O'Carroll and wife.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. –Davey2010Talk 16:47, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

–Davey2010Talk 10:43, 28 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:BasilBrushTitles.jpeg edit

Thank you for uploading File:BasilBrushTitles.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:BasilBrushTitles.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading File:BasilBrushTitles.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:29, 3 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open! edit

Hello, Jackstarrzz. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Nokia Lumia 530.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Nokia Lumia 530.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shritwod (talk) 22:58, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, i’d Like to apply for the standard offer. I was blocked for edit warring over a year ago, and I’ve made no edits for a year. If you look through my contributions you can see the majority of them are constructive, and I enjoy editing Wikipedia, after a year of not editing, I will make sure this behaviour will not occur again

Decline reason:

As per above. We need to be sure you understand exactly what Wikipedia's copyright and fair-use policies mean. You haven't discussed this at all in either unblock request. Yamla (talk) 20:13, 3 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, as you can see in my requests above, I was blocked over a year ago for Copyright Violations, i’d Like to apply for the standard offer. As a user stated above, I have now read through the wikipedia copyright and fair use policies. This time around I will MAKE SURE that I check the copyright of an image, to avoid copyright violation. I haven’t made any edits for over a year, and intend to return to constructive editing, as you can see my contributions have been constructive, the reason I was blocked was copyright violation. I requested an unblock on the UTRS, however they said as I have access to my talk page, they said I should get an administrator to review my unblock request. Even though you were blocked for copyright violations, there is clear evidence that you have been editing via sockpuppets. Regardless of why the initial block was done, you've continued to violate Wikipedia's terms of use. If you wish to be unblocked at this point, do it from your primary account. •   Administrator note We don't unblock people simply for reading the policies and guidelines. You need to demonstrate that you actually comprehend the various policies you violated. Yamla and Kuru both said this on 3 December 2017 above. This is critical, since much of your editing involved the very dicey world of image uploads, something I myself am not to keen on doing without great care. I'm also confused as to why you removed talk page comments in this edit. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:29, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I’ve spent over two years reading the policies. I understand that you cannot upload images from the web due to copyright. And you cannot upload non free images if they are copyrighted to someone else.

Decline reason:

You have been repeatedly told that, "I read the policy" is not a sufficient demonstration that you understand copyright, and this is basically no better; your explanation here is less than cursory. Normally I would give you the standard set of copyright questions to assess your understanding, but it seems evident from your many previous appeals that you have no interest in explaining what - if anything - you understand about copyright on Wikipedia, and instead seem to think that you ought to be unblocked simply because it's been a while since the block was imposed. Since these repetitive and pointless appeals are becoming a pointless time-sink for administrators, I am revoking your talkpage access. When you have read the guide to appealing a block and are willing to take some time to explain what copyright is and how it works on Wikipedia, your avenue of appeal is UTRS. You don't seem to be too interested in expending any effort to explain what you've learned in the last two years, like how to tell if something is copyrighted, or to answer direct questions that you've been asked. When a reviewing administrator has to determine whether or not a previously disruptive editor is competent enough to return to editing, it's very hard to make that determination from short, seemingly-bored responses.
