Please use subpages and respect categories edit

Hi, Jacksisco. For draft articles, consider using subpages (see Wikipedia:Subpages). Your user page (see Wikipedia:User page) should be able you as the editor and should not really look like an encyclopedia article. Also please stop having encyclopedia categories on your user page (see Wikipedia:Categorization#User_pages). You are contaminating the encyclopedia categories with your drafts. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me but please read the policies and guidelines I've link to beforehand. Jason Quinn (talk) 15:01, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

What is the purpose of the article you are creating in your user page? Is this a real article or material about yourself written in the form of an article? I cannot find information related to the person you writing about. You seem to edit largely only that page. You also continue not to use draft pages, if indeed it is a draft. Could you please explain what you are trying to do? Your page is problematic. It looks like an article. You frequently use templates and/or categories that contaminate the encyclopedia with it. I am willing to explain in detail ways to help you edit soccer biographies if that is what interests you. Just ask. Jason Quinn (talk) 14:36, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:W silaJohn in 1997.jpg.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:W silaJohn in 1997.jpg.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Peripitus (Talk) 21:04, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Vincent Enyeama in 2009.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Vincent Enyeama in 2009.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 16:07, 6 March 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fred the Oyster (talk) 16:07, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Vincent Enyeama in 1997.jpg.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Vincent Enyeama in 1997.jpg.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Regarding your editing edit

Jackisco, I have asked a couple of times for clarification of your editing. You seem to only be editing your user page and you insist on editing it to look like an article. I have offered help to you if you just ask. I fail to see the point in your editing. It was harmless enough until I noticed that you appear to have uploaded images as "entirely your own" when they are almost certainly simple cuts-n-pastes of images owned by others. This is a copyright violation and is illegal in most countries. I have nominated two of "your" pictures for speedy deletion due to these concerns and intend to nominate others unless you properly state if they are in fact your work. Your editing style is not in line with Wikipedia guidelines. Please read some of the pages about how to edit if you wish to contribute positively to the project. User page warning edit

  Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.

I noticed that your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline . If you believe that your userpage does not violate our guidelines, please leave a note here and we can discuss it. As an alternative, you may add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's userpage guidelines. Thank you.

Jacksisco, please read Wikipedia:User pages for guidelines about Wikipedia user pages. A user's page is intended to contain information about them as an editor so that others may judge the quality of their edits and to help build the encyclopedia. Wikipedia is not a webhost (see Wikipedia:NOT#WEBHOST to create random pages whimsically. I have offered you help to become a successful editor — and still do — but you have ignored my messages and do not seem interested in collaboration. Your edits have a tendency to harm Wikipedia because you continue to occasionally add categories and templates to your user page even though I have explained why this should not be done. You also appear to have uploaded images with false copyright information. Wikipedia welcomes newcomers and the community would value your constructive edits. I feel obliged to continue to watch your user contributions in the future because of your copyright violations. If you fail to respond and continue to make harmful edits, I will refer this to the Wikipedia Administrators' Noticeboard of Incidents for more input. Per the above notice I have blanked your userpage per WP:NOT#WEBHOST. If you undo the blanking or otherwise recreate the page you will then be blocked (so you cannot edit the userpage) and the content deleted again. This is an encyclopedia, so why not edit some articles? LessHeard vanU (talk) 16:09, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
