- Hello. Again. If you have an external relationship with an organisation or person you have written about on Wikipedia, this would be considered a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and are encouraged to review the related COI policy.
- Otherwise it is expected that all editors:
- avoid editing/creating articles about yourself, colleagues, employer, organisation or competitors;
- instead, propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles
- ideally disclose any conflict of interest when discussing affected articles
- avoid linking to your organisation's website in other articles (like this which could easily be considered WP:LINKSPAM) or as references in articles (like this which includes an example of WP:REFSPAM).
- In addition, editors who may be undertaking paid contributions are required, by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use, to disclose such contributions.
- Otherwise, if an editor finds that near 100% of their edits involve mentioning a particular subject (or linking to the article or website associated with that subject), then they would likely want to question whether their motivations for doing so align with those of this project/community. - @Guliolopez: Apologies for the mistake. While I started my account last year, I’m still pretty new to this whole Wikipedia thing. I appreciate your commitment to keeping Wikipedia unbiased. While I am not paid to edit Wikipedia, I do understand that since I volunteer for the Little Museum of Dublin, I will need to be especially conscious of showing any conflict of interest. I plan on using the talk page to propose changes to pages where this applies from now on, as stated in the conflict of interest policy. Thank you for your time. - OK. Great. Thanks. You might consider whether any planned contributions to related subjects (Trevor White, The Dubliner, etc) should be similarly managed. Entirely up to you (of course), and not landing any responsibility at your door, but if you have occasion to, you might also consider "passing on" your knowledge of Wikipedia's guidelines to others in the org. Including your knowledge of WP:COI, WP:NOTPROMO and WP:VER. As there is a historical pattern of associated editing that has not been compatible with these inter-related guidelines. Cheers.
