Speedy deletion nomination of Jonathan McHugh

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jonathan McHugh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of Jonathan McHugh

edit

The article Jonathan McHugh has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 00:47, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Jonathan McHugh

edit

The article Jonathan McHugh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The issue is simple: which of the elements of the guideline below do you believe your article is meeting? This is not a technical issue related to code or formatting, this is a content question. As far as I am concerned, the subject is not notable, and the sources provided are weak (WP:PRIMARY for two out of three, and Wikipedia:External_links/Perennial_websites#IMDb is not sufficient). Also, you should take a look at WP:COI. And yes, you can remove the prod notice at anytime, at which point we will move to a larger discussion at WP:AFD. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 06:52, 27 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Sometimes we have to discuss things on case to case basis. I do suggest you remove the prod notice; I'll review this again tomorrow or so and may start an AfD discussion. See also WP:MUSICOUTCOMES. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:17, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
