Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogotá

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogotá requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.hisour.com/museum-of-contemporary-art-bogota-colombia-54294/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --- Possibly (talk) 23:05, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

Museum articles, i like 'em

Hi, I see you've started several articles about museums. Because editor User:Bkissin, who accepted an article of mine, also just accepted your article Khalkhgol Victory Museum. I just edited there a little bit. I wonder about your characterization of it as an "art museum", and then whether it should be placed in Category:Art museums and galleries or appropriate subcategories. Is it not a Category:History museums, or perhaps better Category:Military and war museums, though?

I happen to be in favor of Wikipedia coverage of almost all museums; i literally wrote the essay wp:ITSAMUSEUM which gives arguments about why museum articles should be kept (and articles about castles and other public attractions). Here on your talk page i see mention of Draft:Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogotá, which to me does seem a bit short, it would be better to have some other information beyond proof of existence. But I do believe that Wikipedia needs more coverage of national-level and regional-level museums in all countries! --Doncram (talk) 06:36, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

P.S. I have created many many articles about architects (mostly U.S. ones), too. Is the Robert Farrington (currently a redlink in English wikipedia, tho there is Robert Farrington article in Spanish wikipedia) who designed Draft:Pedro A. López Building in Columbia, the person maybe known as Robert Farrington, Jr., an architect based in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA? See "Bob Farrington, urban planner who championed Salt Lake City's downtown, dies". Salt Lake City Tribune.. Maybe the Columbia designer was the father, and the Salt Lake City designer is the son? Showing a bluelink rather than a redlink for an architect name is more supportive of getting an article like the one on Pedro A. López Building into mainspace. It seems like a good topic for an article to me. --Doncram (talk) 06:48, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello, according to the sources, the Khalkgol Victory museum should go in the category "Military and war museums", in fact it is possible to see the museum exhibits in Google street view, the museum is dedicated to show various military elements of the Mongolian People's Republic. Also regarding the contemporary art museum in Bogota, the reason why it is like this is because I was originally translating the information of the article in Spanish, but the article in Spanish was a copy of an article from Hisour, in these days I will try to rewrite and create an original article based on several sources for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Bogota (1). At the moment I am creating another article about a museum in Thailand. - Seb { 💬 Talk + 📝 Edits } 14:49, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
@Doncram: Also the reason why the article was written as "art museum" was my mistake, I created a similar article in another Mongolian museum which is an art museum, I'm sorry I didn't realize I had written "art museum", I fixed it, thanks for telling me.- Seb { 💬 Talk + 📝 Edits } 15:04, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
