- Hi KylieTastic, After a lot of editing I want to say thanks for your initial feedback. I've now added more links to this page (Notability / sources: frequently-cited academic papers, Emilio Picasso's Wikipedia page which names John Bailey first in list of his colleagues at CERN (potential blue link here!) If you do pull this one out of the queue and re-review, that would be great - but whoever that falls to, it's now a much better page. So your feedback here is appreciated! - Hello, I have just seen that this is a place where I can ask for help. I have submitted a biographical entry for John Maxwell Bailey who was an important member of the team working at CERN on Muon storage rings from 1964 onwards. In this article following initial refusal on the valid grounds that I had not included published scientific articles, I have now referenced (with links) a number of the most significant papers coming out of this research for whom JM Bailey was the main author (his name appearing either first, or following Francis Farley who was the leader of the large team cited as 'et al' which can be seen by viewing the papers on the links submitted). There has recently been renewed coverage of Muon research in the press so publishing this biographical page which summarizes all the early work by the leading expert on Moun storage rings will be very timely. Despite the evidence in all these papers / links, the biography has just been returned again as having insufficient evidence. Is this insufficient evidence of the academic work, or of something else such as JM Bailey's place of birth (Australia) or something else? His attendance at the University of Sidney and at The Queen's College, Oxford can be substantiated by the alumni offices of the academic institutions concerned, but this is not something that can be put as a link into a Wikipedia article. Please can you advise how to provide whatever information is required? Is it personal information which I can supply to you directly such as an email from the universities confirming his attendance there? Your help is much appreciated as I believe this will be a significant addition to Wikipedia (strong links to three other scientists featured on Wikipedia: VA Bailey, Francis Farley and Emilio Picasso). Thank you! JFBB12345 (talk) 09:17, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Wikipedia, Refer page on John Maxwell Bailey and your feedback on initial draft. I have now added extensive links to the personal and professional information for this page. Notability - Long list of academic papers from the large team at CERN on Muon (g-2) particle accelerator experiments for which he is the first named author following the group leader, Frances Farley, who also has a Wikipedia page. Of particular relevance, you can see that the Wikipedia page on his colleague Emilio Picasso mentions John Bailey by name *first* in the list of his colleagues at CERN (second paragraph of 'Career'), meaning that a live blue link here would be very appropriate. I hope that all these additions and comments now satisfy your criteria for publication. (NB I've avoided including links to archives eg newspaper articles which are only available to subscribers, so that all links are to publicly available sources). Thank you for your help. - Thanks for your confirmation that the academic papers referenced are correctly cited. No conflict of interest, the information in this article is based on the Obituary in the Rhodes Trust database with confirmatory links and academic papers appended. This is my first Wiki article and I am learning writing and editorial skills: more subjects of interest (but potentially more obscure sources, hence need to understand what is acceptable) planned! 2A0A:EF40:C:DA01:7064:E8DF:AE10:6B95 (talk) 20:27, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
