ResearchGate edit

Thank you so much for all the thought and research you put into your response to the ResearchGate dispute resolution noticeboard I posted. I really appreciate it. To me, though, the email marked as spam and published by Wikileaks as part of some 2 million emails from the Syrian government doesn't prove to me that ResearchGate knowingly and actively spams; it could be interpreted that its email is marked as 'spam' by the recipient's email system, and we all know that legitimate email can be marked as such. In the future you probably will not receive this notice, so please remember to check back regularly for my replies. Thanks. Jasper Deng (talk) 06:40, 8 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Serial (podcast) edit

Hello, JC. I found your name on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Internet page. Would you be willing to assess the Serial (podcast) page? I'd eventually like to nominate it for GA status, but I'm a relative newbie and would like a routine evaluation first. Thanks for considering this request. Cheers! — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 06:03, 22 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Computer Security user status edit

Hello JC.Torpey,

I would just like to inquire on your status on WikiProject Computer Security as the list of WikiProject Computer Security/Members is going to be improved to list active and inactive users.

This is update is being done according to a request for comments on the WikiProject Computer Security talk page. Be sure to state your status at the User status section in the WikiProject Computer Security talk page before the end of four weeks as this will state your status as inactive in the project if not done before then.

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, JC.Torpey. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Effort Administrator, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MarioGom (talk) 13:49, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
