JB: I'm confused as to what the difference between List of 100 Greatest Living Footballers and List of 125 Greatest Living Footballers is supposed to be... perhaps you could clarify this somewhere? -- Seth Ilys 16:12, 6 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I don't think your changes to Euler's identity are such a great idea. There is no need for such a formal notation here, it only makes the article esoteric. Besides, your changes break the list formatting. Fredrik 17:48, 20 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Re: Hello edit

Hello! I'm sorry I cannot give you a very good piece of advice. I've just started with the career, I still haven't got much experience, but I'll do my best to let you know about it. I don't know how careers are organized in the United States, but in University of La Plata, Argentina, we have to study literature, law, linguistics and economics as basic subjects (along with English subjects, of course) and after 2 or 3 years you have subjects such as Literary Translation, for example, which is quite specific. What I would advise you is to check for subjects in universities and think if you would like them or not. Also, I've been told that becoming a translator is not an easy task, quite complicated actually!! But it's a good choice if you enjoy learning a little bit of everything, just like I do. I hope this information is useful to you, my best wishes!

Main Page: Where is it? edit

I tried to get into the Standard Main Page, but it wasn't there. Why is that? JB82 04:03, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)

CLARIFICATION I clicked on the logo on the upper left of my User page and I got the Main Page. It's just when I type in the address, that's all. JB82 04:09, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)

What did you type? RickK 04:27, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Hi JB82, I moved this from the village pump. Perhaps you could clarify the question and repost it if there is still a problem. Angela. 11:04, Apr 29, 2004 (UTC)

Well, never mind, I guess the problem fixed itself... JB82 19:22, 29 Apr 2004 (UTC)

BBC Sports Personality Award edit

Hi JB82, User Arwel Parry had removed your link to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year which I luckily saw on the recent changes page. I have gone back and re-entered the link this time to the team award. There are currently 8 separate categories of award. Take a quick look and you may find others that you may wish to link to in the future. regards Scraggy4 11:59, 9 May 2004 (UTC)Reply

Harriet Beecher Stowe edit

I'm just curious as to why you removed the birth of Harriet Beecher Stowe on June 14? It was originally under the list of births as having occurred in 1852, but I corrected that to 1811. However, that entry has now gone, and I was wondering why it was deleted. --TonyW 00:25, Jun 14, 2004 (UTC)

Ok, no problems. Thanks for re-adding it. :) --TonyW 00:33, Jun 14, 2004 (UTC)

Football edit

Thankyou - it is better than using three letter abbreviations, which can cause confusion. Ed g2s 00:23, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Monty Python edit

Hi, I was wondering why you changed the opening date of the Python spinoff musical "Spamalot" in Chicago from 2004 to 2003? Apart from leaving the article ungrammatical, a quick search of Google shows it is due to open in Chicago in December 2004. -- Arwel 11:57, 24 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Looking at Wikipedia:Wikipedians/New York, you should technically be under Hudson Valley (as per Capitol District), but I thought it better to let you move yourself. :) - Korpios 20:20, 25 Jul 2004 (UTC)

World Cup edit

When you update the scores, do you think you could link all the names, even the names of the players who already had points in that game? It's for aesthetic and consistency reasons. Thanks Earl Andrew 23:47, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Image:Autismawareness.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Autismawareness.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Cyrilic names of Russian biathletes edit

Hey, thanks for entering the names of the Russian biathletes in Cyrilic, in Current sports events! That's just great, and may even entice a Russian Wikipedian or two to contribute biathlon results later in the BWC season, helping me out a bit there. :-) Just wondering: do you write/speak Russian, or did you search out the names on the 'net? --Wernher 15:08, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Ah, asking before checking thoroughly, again... (my brain's ask first part is quicker than its check first part, obviously). I just found out about Multilingual WKPns. But the criteria seems a bit wide: e.g. almost all the Norwegians contributing to the English WKP would qualify. Should I list myself? I just understand a tiny bit of German, not enough to be 'lingual' in German, for sure... :) --Wernher 15:30, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Please answer the cm here on this talk page (and rm this note, of course) -- to keep the thread in one place, for readability. --W

Mein freund, I can write, read, and have some knowledge of the Russian language. My strengths are what I call the "Big Three" – English, French and Spanish. Thanks for the compliment. JB82 16:59, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing edit

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
