Peter Hatch (cricketer) edit

Hi. Please allow articles to be completed before slapping stub and unreferenced tags all over them, its very frustrating when you create an article, save it, go back to edit it and an edit conflict appears because several tags have been slapped on it 2 seconds after it's been created. I've been editing for 10 years and created nearly 5,000 articles related to cricket so they'll always be referenced. Many thanks. StickyWicket (talk) 22:50, 14 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Tag removal edit

Hi JAH2k. You put an unreliable sources tag on my article on John Eellerker Boulcott soon after I began it and when only a few sentences had been written. It is pretty much finished now and draws on a range of sources that I believe are reliable. If you agree I would appreciate if your unreliable sources tag could be removed. Thanks.(Bardo Nerang (talk) 01:14, 21 March 2019 (UTC))Reply

deletion nominations edit

Please read WP:Deletion Policy beforethe mark any additional articles for deletion , or placing inappropriate tags such as "hoax" on articles" .

You marked Anodonthyla eximia as a hoax, but it's a well documented ordinary article on a frog species.

You listed Elinor Burns for deletion. The article was unanimously keept at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elinor Burns

You listed Patricia Patts for deletion. The article was unanimously keept at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Patricia Patts

You listed Alán Aspuru-Guzik for speedy as no indication of importance. He meets WP:PROF as a fellow of the APS.

As less important problems, but still problems:

We also do not add "uncategorized"tags to Draft articles. They are not supposed to be added to categories until they are accepted.

You added "divide into sections" to Amaury II of Montfort, which is a 3-sentence article, and division of an article this short would be inappropriate,. , and, in f this one in fact had an introdcutory sentence explaining what it was about. DGG ( talk ) 19:23, 30 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism edit

Hi, I noticed your edit here so I took a look at your contributions and became a bit concerned at your frequent label of edits as vandalism. The edit that you reverted on Zoey's wasn't vandalism. It wasn't a good edit (it was unencyclopedic and unsourced), but it wasn't vandalism; it was just an inexperienced editor trying to add information they found interesting. You labelled your revert on American Public Power Association "Vandal", but the IP editor was actually adding correct information plus removing an external link in the body which didn't belong there, so the edit shouldn't have been reverted at all. You might want to study What is vandalism?, and you might also look into Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy for training. Only label a revert as vandalism when it is clear-cut, unambiguous vandalism. Edits can be incorrect without being vandalism, and there are many reasons to revert an edit other than vandalism. Schazjmd (talk) 20:08, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

I apologize. I wasn't trying to vandalize the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.112.141.200 (talk) 21:15, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

That is alright. Just please make sure to cancel your edits if you are not 100% sure that you want them to be applied. JAH2k (talk) 21:21, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Italian New Zealanders edit

I saw your message on my page about how my edit to Italian New Zealanders was unconstructive yet, you failed to explain how. You even went as far to say it was vandalism which I don’t see how it was vandalism. Do you think you could explain? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:183:C600:20A:C409:6FCC:9395:4ABA (talk) 20:31, 24 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

2601:183:C600:20A:C409:6FCC:9395:4ABA The purpose of having the countries linked as they were before your edits was to allow the reader to gain a general overview of the locations listed, as according to WP:MOS. I suggest that instead of changing the sentence that you did, you should make a new section in the article with links such as "More information on X in Y country." Also, for future content debates, I highly recommend that you do not re-do your un-done edits, as it is likely to start an edit war. Best, JAH2k (talk) 21:48, 24 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

OK. I understand. Just wanted to make sure. That’s all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:183:C600:20A:C409:6FCC:9395:4ABA (talk) 22:10, 24 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your GA nomination of Austin, Texas edit

JAH2k, I have just reverted your GA nomination of Austin, Texas. The GA nomination instructions are quite clear that Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article on the article talk page prior to a nomination. You aren't a significant contributor yet you haven't done that, and if you wish to nominate the article, you need to.

The article also needs quite a bit of work yet before it's ready to be nominated, well beyond the four edits you just did: a number of sections are without any source citations at all, which runs afoul of the verifiability criteria; this is also true of some individual paragraphs containing a great deal of information.

Once you have made the improvements and gotten a consensus of the regular editors that the article is ready (the process takes at least seven days to give them to respond), by all means renominate the article. Thank you for your interest in the GA nomination process, and best of luck going forward. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:43, 27 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

BlueMoonset I appreciate your concern and I will take your suggestions into account. Thank you. JAH2k (talk) 17:35, 27 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Telephone on OTD March 10 edit

Hi and thanks for adding Telephone to Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/March 10. However, per the rules that article is ineligible due to requiring more references (no yellow/orange/red maintenance tags allowed). By the same token, Alexander Graham Bell cannot be featured either (too many inappropriate external links). Thanks. howcheng {chat} 04:14, 8 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

"History of Slavery" Reverted correction. edit

"Impact" does not mean "affect". Although this is becoming increasingly common, it is incorrect. To claim my revision was not constructive is preposterous. Proper grammar is fundamental to an operation like Wikipedia, and a professional and mature tone should be created and maintained. Please research items to which you have no knowledge before haphazardly altering someone's contribution. As an aide, please see https://languageandgrammar.com/2008/01/18/impact-does-not-mean-to-affect/
