Hi Iwazaki, please don't remove warnings from your talk page. The message I left you was both a welcome and a warning to respect our neutral point of view policy. You can do what you want with your user page, but it's a good idea to leave warnings on, so that subsequent editors know how to warn you, in case you make another mistake. Have fun editing Wikipedia! yandman 15:07, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

dear yandman, thanks for the warm welcome..as a new user, i ll take some time to adjust..So be a bigger person and forgive the silly mistakes i may make here.. --Iwazaki 03:18, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please avoid bias edit

Iwazaki, it seems you are new to wikipedia and we all look forward/eager to see positive contribution from you. We are all here to make positive contribution in an encyclopedia format. Having looked at what you have written at the talk page for : Velupillai Prabhakaran, I have some concerns to raise. Please assume WP:AGF (Assume good faith from others). But also keep in mind there is WP:Civility and that has to be adhered to. In addition, all these article must be NPOV and not be rants supporting one party or another. In couple of instance the stuff you have written could be construed as personal attacks on fellow wiki editors. We would like to keep a positive atmosphere. Wikipedia talk pages are not to be used as blogs to write opinion on anything, its merely a place to discuss and cordinate work to be done on the article. In otherword this page is not a soapbox . I would also suggest you look at [1]. Thanks and we look forward to positive contributions from you. Elalan 23:49, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Assuming Good faith should be applied universally to everyone. This is within wikipedia's rules. I am sorry to hear you feel this way. I am not so sure what you mean by 'stand'. Everyone has their own personal beliefs, support one team or another, but they are also duty bound to maintain or try to ensure a neutral perspective with regard to these wikipedia entries. The way to go is convince people of the merits of your reasoning. Strictly stick to reasoning and not the side stories, opinions. Elalan 00:19, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Please tell this to the people who actually tell stories. All my claims are backed up with strong evidence..And all are within the rules of wikipedia..Talking about sources, spread of internet has made everyone a writer, some write "kindergarten level" "baseless" stories over the net.SO there is no point giving them as evidence..I know most of the LTTE supporters are quite active over the net and renowned for their "version" of history, but as wikipedians we shouldnt have them unless they carry any weight.
and for what i said in the discussion column; i was merely answering questions.I dont want to disappoint anyone who ask things from me.Also please be noted that, most of the things in said are actually related to the articl/s..When i see dubious sources ,first i questioned its validity, and then i try to correct it

with the truth. thanks --Iwazaki 01:02, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Policy: No personal attacks edit

Dear Iwazaki, First, I would like to thank you for your appetite to contribute to Wikipedia. As you may aware as a fellow Wikipedian, Wikipedia insists on No Personal Attacks Policy, to maintain the smooth environment for all the fellow wikipedians to contribute peacefully and productively. If you would have objections in an article, and if you feel you would like to discuss, do it in a polite way, which will be good for you and the bothers. I would like to let you know that your wordings in the page Talk:Velupillai Prabhakaran#murder and scholars are removed has made think that it is best if I refer you to the Personal attack intervention noticeboard. Hoping to see many positive contributions from you to Wikipedia. Thank you. -Sechzehn16Talk 06:50, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dear Sechzehn, thanks for pointing out certain things to me.I was sarcastic at times, and shouldnt have said somethings i said. But the name calling was started not by me, I use certain words to describe "dubious sources", not the editors or the article it self. Please read the article and refer to its sources , then you will realize the truth..Wikipedia is great, but sadly some articles are(seemed to) hijacked by people with certain hidden agendas,And as a person who values this site a lot,i cant let it happen.

thanks

--Iwazaki 08:18, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. If you continue to make personal attacks, you will be blocked for disruption. Please read our policy on personal attacks, WP:NPA. Try to comment on the article itself and avoiding talking about other editors. Calling people stupid certainly isn't going to help further your end of the discussion. You might also want to take a look at the dispute resolution page for ideas on how to resolve your editing differences. Shell babelfish 14:32, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

good..I didnt get any warning and here,my first warning says its my last !! I did not call anyone stupid.I was commenting on the article and its ambiguity. Please send the last warning to the person who started name calling.Once again i kindly ask you to re-read my talk ,and to see if i have done any wrong doings, other than being sarcastic in occasions, which i admit,is wrong. If you find any of my edits are against the wiki policy, please let me know..As i said before some articles here are erronuous, and i cant just look at them and ignore,, as i respect wikipedia a lot ,i want it to be clean of dubious/erronuous articles
after reviewing the talk, i found out that user --Sharz is the only one who used the term stupid, and it seemed to be directed at me..So,i get warning for what other people have done ??!!

--Iwazaki 15:17, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

For your information only, I have rewieved the report for which Shell gave you a final warning. You have made innumerous statements questioning the intelligence and honour of other users, each of which is considered a personal atack under Wikipedias no personal attacks policy. It is for this reason that you have recieved a final warning, having previously recieved informal warnings from other editors.
For your convenience, I have created a list of a number of such attacks from the report concerned, and listed each as linked to the diff from which they were copied...
  1. "written by someone with a kindergarten level knowledge",
  2. "it would be really nice if you work on your reading comprehension skills..All my points remain valid and u only have one kindergrten level article to back up what ever you claims",
  3. "i mean afterall u needed advice from a probably another pro-srilankan to grasp the idea of copyright policies here in wikipedia..",
  4. "i have an enormous respect to wiki and its editors..But like in every society ,there are a few here joking around..And for them i have no respect..Since i take my history very seriously, i dont want kids to come here and screw things up.kids should grasp more knowledge before coming here.",
  5. "didnt i tell you to speak for your self ?? what you have written here is not only in low quality ,but lack truth too.some of your sources are highly ambiguous, and do not qualified to be in the article. And thats what this kid do here, pointing out your "hypothesis" to save the standards of wikipedia..You have shown here so many things, lack of "reading conprehension skills" , "kidergarten level logic" , "lack of knowledge in srilankan crisis" and most importantly "lack of(or NO) knowledge in our history"..So shouldnt you think ,better to get some history lessons in school ,before even coming here to edits ??",
  6. "YOU dont need to take a day-nap to see that truth..",
  7. "and unlike some i dont have any hidden agendas.I honor my state, SLA or anyother thing, with a reason..And condemned them too, with reason..Since you have done such a poor job in this article, and its not surprising considering your pre-school level knoweldge of hostory and amazing logic !!".
...Please be advised that this is not a complete list. Shell was working well within her role as Administrator in issuing you a final warning, and further attacked will lead to a temporary block. If any further clarification of what is or is not a personal attck is required, please read WP:NPA. As a rule of thumb though, please comment on the content and not the contributor, and please refrain from making any statement that would question the honesty, integrity, or intelligence of another editor (or any statement that would bee seen as an attempt to make another editor look inferior to yourself or anybody else.) Comment only on content. --Crimsone 09:53, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank your for commenting my remarks and unfortunately i've to tell that there is a great deal of mis-understanding in your analysis..So please let me clarify the situation to you,

1. I was challenging a certain sources given in the article here..i wasnt accusing the "editors of article, nor i called any editors kindergarten kids" ..After reding the source, i found out,how ignorant it is about our history, and i questuion for having it as a source here please read whole talk..I gave plenty of evidence to prove that source lack any scholerlay standard. So ,the people who use "dubious/ambiguous" articles (continuously) as sources get away from any warning, and people who actually helps to maintain the high standard of wiki do get warnings..i thing this is very unfair.

2.Second one was more of a sarcastic comment directed against another sarcastic comment..Please read the talk.BY saying "You might probably want to use something called as 'Google",user-Sudharshan,clearly directing sarcasm towards to me..And why me not him get tha warning ?? I was answering his sarcasm with my own sarcasm..I may be wrong in doing this, but please understand iam only a human.

3.All the insults directed at the wiki editors were started by Sudharsansn, you may see it in my following passage.

4.I have listed some things said by Sudharsansn here, please let me know whether these are within the policies of wikipedia..i would kindly like you to know, that most of my remarks came after these "insults made by Sudharsansn "

a: "Since you have already stated yourself to be a proud SL, and not a neutral and sensible one"

so since iam pro-srilankan iam not sensible isnt this a insult ??

b:"you sound like an extremely immature kid who is using a computer for the first time"

look at this..Isnt this the worst insult anyone get here?? Sudharsansn insulting me by using words such as "immature kid" and "using computer for the first time"..dont you think these are insultive words ??

c:"As for you Osama comparisons they only reaffirm your immaturity"

here again he had insulted me for something i said about osama bin laden..And what did i say to get this insult ?? i said, "prabhakaran is a worse killer than osama bin laden,We can start with this by mentioning that osama has never directly killed anyone(to this date). But prabakaran started his thug life by killing a prominant politician".. Does this qualify me to the level of immaturity ??

d:"Do not use this like your own personal noticeboard to talk for the SL army"

iam using "discussion boards to discuss certain important things"..And he has

accused me for talking for the SLA ??..Discussions only became longer only because of Sudharsansn refusal to accept them..he even used "red-herrings" to drag the talk into a different direction..I donot know i should say this, but the discussions became long mainly because of lack knowldege of Sudharsansn , about Srilanka and its issues. And still he get awy with any punishment.

e: Sudharsansn was keep saying me to,read wiki policies and it looked kind of insultive to me.After all,he had already called me "immature kid" and "not-sensible" one, i had the feeling that hes trying to make me "some one who doesnt know about wiki at all"..So i gave my return to him by saying he should take more care of him self than others..Tell me , if iam wrong here ?? How can someone stand continuous attacks and insults like this ?? i should have let you know before, but frankly i didnt know it was possible..

f:"you have also made a dubious claim that LTTE tagged with Premadasa to 'interfere with IPKF' - daydreaming"

look who has used the term "day-dreams" first..I made some comments ,which are universally known in Srilanka, and he replied with an insultive words like "daydreaming" So i have used the word "nap" as a reply to this.

g:"This arguement is non-constructive, basless in nature and entirely stupid"

This was by the user-sharz, which was directed at me..Wasnt this insultive ?? I have never used the word stupid in any instance here.

and there are plenty more, and if time permits i will let you know each and every one of them

Dear -Crimsone,people who have made complains of me, has given only one side of the story. And you have beed totally put in the darkness about the what exactly happened there. And please re-read relevant talk page again, and see the truth for your self. And also, please be reminded that,LTTE activities/supporters are highly active over then internet and they are pretty good at hiding the truth.

thank you --Iwazaki 10:53, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry Iwazaki, but as per the policy, your language commented on the contributor, not the content, in a negative way. This is why your statements breached the WP:NPA policy, nomatter what the subject was. Regardless of the full nature of the dispute, it will not alter the fact that your comments have breached the policy. This is the purpose of issuing warnings. Perhaps another good rule of thumb is that when using the words "you", or "your", or when referring to another editors actions/comments directly or indirectly, think very carefully about the way in which the statement is worded, or better still, try to avoid doing so at all. It doesn't matter who said what first - if you have a complaint you may make your own report about it at the appropriate venue having followed the appropriate procedure of issuing a warning, but it still will not alter the fact that you made the comments you made. If you intend to avoid making comments which violate the policy in future, then the warning Shell gave you will have been understood by yourself and will no longer be of concern to you. The warning only becomes important should you wish to violate the WP:NPA policy again in the near future. In short, it is a valid warning, and will not be recinded or apologised for. --Crimsone 12:12, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Dear Crimsone, thank for taking your time in replying to my post.I accept most of the points which you have pointed out here.Iam kind of new here and i wasnt aware how to submit a complain .I would have done it if i new that.I thought complains can be made only about the "unfair changes in articles" not about talk page insults. But anyway i do admit i shouldnt have use sarcasm as i did.. But as i said before, i only condemned the poor quality of the source, not the editor. What i said was "this seemed to be written by someone with a kindergarten level knowledge of SriLankan history".The disputed source says "Historically, there have been two ethnic groups on the island. Sinhalese have been the largest, located in the center, west and south. Center of kingdom was in the central highlands of Kandy.....Tamils are next, in the north and east. They are ethnically aligned with Tamils in India, roughly 30 miles away". And this is totally baseless !! Raed my little responce in the talk page. But unfortunately this article is still use as a "proof",degrading the quality of the wikipedia!!! If you are interested in this i can provide you very stable evidences at any time.
secondly, please take a re-look at his this statement.he said "Since you have already stated yourself to be a proud SL, and not a neutral and sensible one"can anyone insult people like this ?? Iam ofcourse very mush proud to be

srilankan, same as you are proud of your welsh heritage..So if someone comes and tell you ,hey Crimsone, since you are pro welsh you are not neutral and sensible hence not capable of doing edits related to walse/welsh, dont you feel that you have been insulted ?? For me this is the greatest insult one can ever get, but people who complained about me have somehow missed this important point.I sorry to say that some kind of biased policy is running here against me.Both you and shell were told only one side of the story. And please let shell know about the other side of the story too.

As i have said i admit what i did.But i think its very unfair that only i have been warned..I think the person who started insults should be given the "final warning" too.But he hasnt received any kind of warning..Yes,a person who have used ,"immature kid" ,"insensible" ,"daydream" ,"stupid","using computer for the first time, thus indirectly calling me as a stupid guy" and alot ,hasn't been warned at all !!! I think this is very very unfair. And i sincerely hope both you and shell will take a very good look at this matter.
again thanks for all the advices

--Iwazaki 17:09, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The warning was a final warning due to previous informal warnings having been given to you. However, if you can provide Diffs that show the editor you mention making these comments at WP:PAIN after following the instructions at the top of that page, then the report will be considered with an even hand. Even if you would provide those diffs here it would help. --Crimsone 17:46, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Dear Crimsone, i have listed a few of them here..But it would be very helpfull if you can read the whole talk again,if time permits.
1[2]

"You might probably want to use something called as 'Google",

2[3]

"understand more of your mother-land!",

3[4]

"Judge Sansoni!!(look at the sarcasm here),mishandling of the 100,000 plantation Tamils who were sent back to India (red-herring),.Buddy, these cases are closed(buddy ?!! i consider this is a insult/name calling)"

4[5]

"Since you have already stated yourself to be a proud SL, I am not going to waste time in discussing about it....which makes you sound extremely immature kid who is using a computer for the first time " , ]

5[6]

" 'you have reaffirmed my faith in you as an immature and emotional kid ,daydreaming, should I say!",

6[7]

"You have not done any work on this article apart from some terribly minor edits and spell checks!!",

And please remember, i had to read all most all the given references, and my sources to make my edits and correction. How can he insulted me like this ?? Error correcting isnt important in wikipedia ??

7[8]

"This arguement is non-constructive, basless in nature and entirely stupid",

these are some i found..And please be noted that, discussion only became longer due to the lack of knowledge of Srilankan history/crisis by some editors. When i did the correct editing and even gave the evidences, thye started this discussion war.But some how, they have not given answered to my comments at all, other that calling me in insultive ways or using red-herrings in the process. And remember the people who has complained about me to you, have totally kept a blind eye towards the insults made by this certain editor. thanking you --Iwazaki 04:23, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Dear Iwazaki. Again, greetings from Sechzehn. I would like to say few things.
  1. First, you have been given the warning because of the things you have done, as proved by User:Crimsone.
  2. Second, you cannot justify your mistakes by just pointing out the mistakes others have made.
  3. Finally, if you have objections of some of the user's comments and feel it violates WP:NPA, you may always report at the Personal attack intervention noticeboard.
Thanks for your cooperation and looking forward for more contributions from you. --Sechzehn16Talk 09:19, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Dear Sechzehn,thanks for the post.
1. i believe the warning should have been issued to other user too.
2. i have given the list of insults here..Could you please tell me ,whether they are insultive or not ??
3. i have admitted my mistakes already.Did you read my reply to your earlier post??iam not justifying it.But remember most of my sarcasm came after his insults..And the word "kidergarten" was used to describe the level of the source not the editor..I dont know why he cant see the difference of it.

finally, thanks for the encouragement.. --Iwazaki 11:33, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

State terrorism in Sri Lanka edit

Hello, Thanks for your contribution. You had asked for citations of facts that are blue linked to the main article. We dont have to repeat the citations as the blue linked article is already cited with nuetral references. The source about burning of the library is [9] It is a nuetral source as members of the organisation have been imprisoned by both the LTTE and the Gof SL. ThanasRaveenS 18:12, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the compliment. But i dont think that article qualify as a neutral source,as it only echoes certain things without a proper proof..And as i said in the other forum,WSW is not neutral at all,They are highly anti-buddhists and very much pro-eelamists..Sorry Raveens, even though i deeply condemned the destruction of the Jaffna Library, and believe some politicians may have involved in this, i do not agree with source which claims the death of 4 innocent tamils.I think those claims came much after the destruction and lack any real proof.--Iwazaki 18:30, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Here we go again WSW is run by Sinhalese with Tamil members. Tamil members of that group were imprisoned by the LTTE. If they are ant-Budhist and pro-Eelamist what is the source of that point of view? If you think that that the cited source can be contradicted by your opinion that no one was killed then find that credible source and write about that point of view. It is easy to write a Wikipedia article say, a point of view, cite it credibly then say the opposite point of view and cite and credibly and let the reader make the choice.ThnaksRaveenS
Also your intentions about starting pages on Anuradhapura massacre, Kent and dollar farm massacre and Kathankudy mosque massacre by the LTTE is needed as currently only massacres by the government forces are highlighted. We need a balance of all articles. It is much easier to create wthin the scope of WP policies and defend than to endlessly edit pages like LTTE, Prabhakaran and the like. As a newbie at somepoint you will decide whether you are a creationist or an perenial editor. I hope you take the creationist route because we need more content about Sri Lanka within WP policy. Just my opinion. RaveenS
Your idea is a good one must be done immediately. But This is an encyclopedia and i just dont want to write, even correct informations, without giving proper citations. For that i need to go-through some books and endless newspaper articles. And ant-LTTE community ,or even the srilankan governement has done nothing to create a good data-base with detailed info of LTTE terorism.so getting help from the internet might not be easy.Which means i have to find printed materials, and thats never easy(iam already into it now)

Also, dont ever think editing is easy..I could have written a few articles if i didnt spend many hours going through all printed and electronic materials, just to do some edits in the prabhakaran and state terrorism. --Iwazaki 18:56, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I know that's why I try to keep away from hot button articles unless I created them to begin with. I used to wonder why there is not a single article on Anuradhapura massacre, although I never looked for the sources myself as I have enough to write about dead Tamil(s), prominent or otherwise. Now I know why, sources are not readily available.

Another way to look at Wikipedia article writing is to write an article that will outlast you as a person. This is something you leave behind for the generations to come. Hence the time frame for edit is not today or tomorrow but a relaxed longer period where the arguments are well thought of and really neutral. This is something I am trying to achieve a Zen like state. Anyway good luck. RaveenS 19:16, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sinhala Goons edit

I appreciate your concern but at the same time I would want you to read through the context completely before leaving pointless remarks on my page. A userbox titled "This user supports killing of Tamils" was created by one of you and you know who I am talking about. So in the context I said, if they do that we can make them revert it by putting up a userbox and exercising our democracy too. You did not shout out when somebody created a userbox titled "This user supports killing of Tamils" because you were by their side, so when I do that I really don't think you have moral ground to speak out against it and theat also when I give it in a contextual meaning!! If you would have spoken out like what I did on Lahiru's page, I would have appreciated your concern. However you want to speak out only when somebody is speaking out against you and your 'countrymen' so I really don't think you are even remotely WP:AGF to point out to me, when I actually meant no harm. If you want to understand what I meant, re-read the thread and you will understand that I was not acting out against the Sri Lankans, but it was a contextual statement made to point out that I can exercise my democracy too. please dont make my talk page a soapbox.and please, please stop all your red-herrigs !! by pointing to other user inorder to defend your self. What you did ,was a violation of WP:NPA and WP:AGF.It seems you have a problem with accepting those, and you know what, iam not surprised !! And for your, other baseless accusations, pls have a look at here. And next time, make your case brief, i dont want my user-talk to be like a soapbox.thanks

--Iwazaki 07:12, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I thought 'adhareya oba' means 'kindly'!! I did not mean it otherwise. Let me safely ignore your other comments, because I really don't think I have a liability to respond to you. When you did not have the guts to point out to the userbox which said 'Killing of all Tamils', I really don't care about your opinion on my comments which were purely contextual and should have been read in a sequence than isolating one phrase. With regd to your soapbox comments, I strongly recommend that you stay away from my talkpage for leaving comments as I really do not want to see stupid msgs there!! And btw, always remember to reply in the same thread. Don't start a million threads in my talkpage. Sudharsansn (talk contribs) 14:55, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Once again, engaging in "red-herring" i would say..Did you fail to see "the truth" ?? about who actually did the edits ?? And, why should i made a comment against someone innocent ?? And still, what this has to with your insults against my race ?? and more insults here ?? such as calling my msg stupid..

any further excuses ?? --Iwazaki 15:22, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I choose to safely ignore your finger-pointing and I do not wish to continue this thread or anything more correspondence. You can report this anywhere you want to, I am willing to answer anyone because any admin would realize that my statements are to be read in a sequence and not as an isolated phrase! Please don't meddle with my talk page, after all it's mine and it's not your soapbox. I get to choose what stays and what does not. If you continue to revert I might have to bring in an Admin to look into it, because after all I get to choose what msgs stay and what does not. If you want to look up something go through my history. I would not want to continue answering or replying to your points. Let us respect our privacy mutually. I would certainly mind, if you take your warnings out of talk page. This is what we call,vandalism..ever heard of it ?? And dont you think, this sub title is not necessary ?? we already have a one named "sinhala goons" right above here, dont we ??

Iwazaki, you had proved to be a good editor so all what I a was trying to do is IF you are sockpuppet then apologize and stop it from escalating IF you are not then the Wiki process will take care of the situation. I personally dont have the time or inclination to get involved in such things, I'd rather spend my time creating articles of dead Tamils. I had initially suggested that artcles such as Anuradapura and Kathankuddy mosque massacres are missing from Wikipedia. You seem to have found some about Aranthalawa massacre, why not write a neutral article about it ? Just my suggestionRaveenS 14:20, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank You edit

Dear Iwazaki, I was engaged in a some business activities and was extremely busy in past the few days. Only now, I have realised that my account on wikipedia has been blocked due some allegations made by another wikipedia user. I'm extremely thankful to you for pointing out this to me. I'll take this matter with the administrators and I hope god will be on my side and help me to show my innocence. Psivapalan 11:19, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help with Japanese image descriptions? edit

Hi Iwazaki, I would need the translations for one (or even a few) image descriptions in Japanese. Could you help me with that? The picture I care most about is Image:2kaioumaru21.JPG, but I'd be interested also in the other pictures from ja:海王丸. Unfortunately, they don't have a description in English, could you possibly add them to the Commons pages?

And then there's another picture (ja:画像:Nihonmaru_1.jpg) which hasn't even been uploaded to the Commons. Could you help me with that (or if you're not familiar with uploading, could you help me with the Japanese descriptions so that I could upload it to the Commons)?

Thanks a lot! --Ibn Battuta 08:48, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Iwazaki, Thanks a lot for your help already! No, I actually don't need the entire article, I was just wondering about the pictures... I'm actually travelling the next few days, and even if I weren't--there's no rush whatsoever! If you should be so nice to help me, I'll definitely not require you do that ASAP! :o) Take your time, good luck with your school work, and just let me know when you've more free time, okay? (And if you won't in the near future, I can ask someone else, no problem.) Thanks again, Ibn Battuta 03:39, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pottuvil massacre edit

I made a bold decision to create an article called Pottuvil massacre with your material and linked it to STF so that all editing can happen in Pottuvil massacre. I have to say that you have created good articles of late such as Dollar and Kent farm massacre etc. All those dead civilians need to be remembered. The funny thing is the so called Sinhalese fishermen killed in Kokuvil were Tamil speaking fishermen from Negombo. They speak Tamil claim to be Sinhalese and get killed as Sinhalese by another group whose membership at that time consisted primarily of people who may have been blood relatives of the Negombo fishermen. Such is the trajedy of Sri Lanka. Keep it up.RaveenS 18:20, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree with you that a lot of Tamils of Sri Lanka have Sinhalese and Vedda origins (even in the North not just the east) more than they are aware of but it should be noted that the members of the Karave, Durave and Salagama castes amongst Sinhalese as well as others also have South Indian roots that they deny for nationalistic reasons. Buddhism prevented native Sinhalese from functions such as fighting and fishing hence most of these niches were filled by South Indians thus the preponderance of South Indian groups along the western coast of Sri Lanka. Read below The population of Mampuri is far from homogeneous in terms of ethnicity or origin. Today, Sinhalas make up 73.1% of the population (DS 1998). Many of them still speak Tamil as their first language. The other 26.9% are Tamil. The majority, 95%, are Catholic, whilst the remaining 5% are mainly Hindu. There is a large settlement of fishermen by the village beach, in front of which more than a hundred boats are landed. The areas away from the sea are dominated by vegetable and tobacco fields. Vegetable production has boomed since the civil war cut off supplies from the Jaffna peninsula in the late 1980s. Overall, a picture of rapid social and economic change, including waves of in-migration, the impact of the civil war, and other trends in the wider economy, characterises Mampuri.[11] This is coming from a neutral source. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander. I hope you understand. Only openly accepting the truth that we so called Sinhalsee and Tamils are not that all different as we imagine can this madness in Sri lanka come to an endRaveenS 15:15, 19 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I am glad you are reading, most Sri Lankan refused to read about these controversial subjects and one group even protested against the publication of an dictionary that said Salagama were Saliyar weavers from Kerala or Tamil Nadu or may be Andhra Pradesh. I am also glad you are come across Telugus from Tamil Nadu. The Telugus in Tamil Nadu are found in all niches from rulers who provided ultimately the last Kandyan Kingdom Nayaka rulers to Sakkiliar or night soil or shit bucket carriers. Telugus got pushed in to Tamil Nadu when the Muslims started invading central India. Any way their position in Tamil nadu is similar to the Karave, Durave and Salagama’s position in Sri Lanka and their political response is also very similar. They are the most ardent Tamil Nationalists more than the native Tamil. Dravidian movement was founded by one Periyar who is a Nayaka but of Kannada origin. The ardent LTTE supporters such as Vaiko, M. Karunanidhi and even Vijayakanth the actor turned politician are all Telugus. Usually immigrant groups espouse a very nationalistic point of view to assimilate them with the host culture. This is not just in Sri Lanka or Tamil Nadu but across the world. Another good example is in Turkey. Tthe most anti-Armenian and anti-Kurdish groups in Turkey are descendants of refugees from the Caucus who ere allowed by the Ottoman to settle in Turkey proper after the Russians ethnically cleansed them of their home land 100 years ago. They are more Turkish today than the real Turks. The longer you stay in Wikipedia and start digging, I have no doubt you will come to see the light of these statements and differentiate history from legends and see them sympathetically through the sociological prism so it makes sense to you.
Why do you think that Karave legends say that they are actually North Indians from South India ? Just a cross check with a DNA analysis will tell you whether it is a legend that allows them to assimilate with the host community (ie it is driven by sociological need) seamlessly or based on truth? I am positive that given the chance all Tamils, Malayalees, Telugus and even the Veddas in Sri Lanka will eventually be Sinhalese, that is the normal state of being of Sri Lanka, just like all people in Tamil Nadu will be Tamils whether they have Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati or Hindi origins. The current civil war is an aberration that came about due to many missteps by post colonial immature politicians and the impact of colonialism. LTTE leader is correct in saying there is no room for Tamil identity in Sri Lanka but it is not a political statement by jingoist Sinhalese politicians like they assume but it is really a sociological eventuality and a normal state of being a person from Sri Lanka. This assimilation process will triumph even if there is a federal solution because a federal solution will simply make the Tamil identity last a little longer. Look at your own host country. The Koreans are doing their best to maintain their identity in Japan but see how many are simply adopting Japanese names and assimilating ? Because in Japan you become a Japanese even if you are Ainu, Okinawan or Korean in origin.
Thats' why I belive that the only real Tamils in Sri Lanka in the future will be the Muslims because like the Jews around the world their religion protects them against assimilation and speaking an alien language amongst a host community gives the community even more protection. Again it is a sociological response against assimilation. So inspite of not associating with Tamil causes, the Muslims will still be speaking Tamil in 200 years unlike those who are fighting and dying for being Tamils today. Thanks RaveenS 16:12, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Note edit

I too think the LTTE's fighting is futile, and despise them because their whole power at the top is Christian. If they were a declared Hindu group I would be pro-LTTE. The only reason I support Rajsingam is beacuse Tamil people seem to be persecuted in Sri Lanka, and he sems to be working for the betterment of the pedia. It is as Raveen put it, futile for them to try.Bakaman 16:58, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Do look at Bajrang Dal (the closest Hindus got to "extremist") and NLFT, a Christian group in India. Both you and I know the Eelam isnt going to change in a snap. The eelam tactics are quite similar to the NLFT, and not similar to the Dal. Ethnic cleansing, plz, I have read about Black July you know and know quite a few Tamils that left Sri Lanka under fear of persecution. Its not about forgiveness, as I have no power to excuse/unexcuse anyone. I merely found user:Rajsingam to be a valuable contributor for things on Hinduism in Sri Lanka. If you want to help, a few weeks ago I started a page in my userspace on King Rajasinghe I.Bakaman 17:35, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Anton Balasingham edit

Hi, I don't know whether you hate me but I wanted to argue at that point like that way. I never met Mr. Anton Balasingham in my real life but than a LTTE theoretician I had some different regard for him. Don't think I am a Tamil chauvinist, see my contributions there are number of Sinhalese. I created the Kandyan Kingdom. You know in the IPKF era in 1990s I had taken a Sinhala family to Jaffna and they were staying at my residence, thereafter we had a visit to Nagadeepa. The Nagadeepa high priest told them after more than 15 years a Sinhala couple is coming from ferry to Nagadeepa. But you should realise there are few things we are still in a different world. So we will have to argue, don't take it serious.

Hi, As you said I have some problem with listening to others. I think you have found it in a short while. But why I don't like funeral expenditure into the story is, because that is something to do with a person's last respect. If they have spent for something else I might be having a different view.

Rajsingam 11:41, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

You might be little dissapointed over my comment on the Mannar incident but that's all I feel.

Rajsingam 12:43, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

You asked me his funeral expenses, I don't have any idea. Actually I am not interested in controversial topics. You can check my other contributions but it happened to be accidentally and I involved the articles on Laksman Kathirgamar and Anton Balasingham but now I regret why I got involved.

Rajsingam 13:34, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

I have added some negative aspect of the funeral. But I think that is enough. I feel as we discussed to avoid Asia Tribune and Tamilnet from the article.

Hi Iwazaki edit

My name is Nina and I'm a black woman and a Nichiren Buddhist. I want to show you a couple of things, and I want to help you with the article mentioned above. I have yet to even see it, but I've googled the incident in question. These are truly horrific acts, and painful to humanity.

I'm coming to you as a member of the neutrality project. It's important to keep the articles on Wikipedia neutral, because they are not credible when they are biased in any way. Please discuss this article with me on my talk page before you make any more edits. Feel free to say anything you like. The reason why I want you to do this is because I care deeply about your feelings on the matter. I don't lie, nor do I care more about this article than I do about you. For the neutrality project and very sincerely, Nina Odell 15:04, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Okay, thank you. Let me tell you the issues here:
  • The word "massacre" must be included in the title, because it yields the most number of hits in a google search
  • The word "massacre" must not be used in the article itself, in order to keep it neutral. I can explain this in many ways, but the more neutral it is, the more people will believe it really happened and that it was, indeed, a massacre.
  • I'll be doing some copyediting along these lines. Please believe me when I say I want to help.

Sincerely, Nina Odell 23:43, 1 January 2007 (UTC) I've done what I said I would do. Please, please, message me on my talk page, or email me if you like. I'm on Wikipedia every day, so it won't take long to get back to you. I will explain everything I did and why. Sincerely, Nina Nina Odell 02:56, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear Iwazaki,

I will change the word "presume". I regret that I cannot, however, read the books you mention. It would be very difficult for me to do so, both emotionally and practically. I can, however, help you with "cleaning up" the article and copy-editng. Again, I'm sorry. Nina Odell 10:33, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Iwazaki, please consider that your words, and by proxy your actions, are now the property of Wikipedia. Nothing, not even the words on this page, are your own. I've given you one of my special "New Years Day" cards. Please carefully read all links, they're very important to me. Sincerely, NinaNina Odell 15:19, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Two things, Iwazaki. It would be great if you could source the "banned" sentence. Something like that really needs to be sourced well. Also, make sure that you put all references outside of any punctuation mark, except for dashes. If you don't know what I'm trying to say, please ask. I'm grateful that you have allowed me to help you. Sincerely, NinaNina Odell 16:52, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I am strongly opposed to these pictures. It can only bring more pain. Let readers find pictures for themselves all over the net. Please, they do not belong on Wikipedia. NinaNina Odell 17:02, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Currently, there are as many pictures as text. There are an inordinate number of pictures for an article of this size. Also, the article needs to "move on" as it were, to describe any potential aftermath, response from the Sri Lankan government, etc. The one with soldiers would suffice. Work for you Pal edit

I have a suggestion for you. That is to create the following articles List of massacres attributed to the LTTE, Terrorism by LTTE' because the second article will balance out the State terrorism by Sri Lanka article and the first one will balance out an article that I am going to create. Awaiting your reply. My idea is that one day we can cobine all these into singular articles such as Terrorismn in Sri Lanka and Massacres in Sri Lanka but for now seperate ones will do. Thanks RaveenS 14:06, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am almost done with my massacre series, couple of more to go yes couple of more edit wars with you :(( But do remember to create a List of massacres attributed to the LTTE soon because I will have one just like it but by Government forces so we can have balance in Wikipedia eventually. Also Wikipedia article creation is a process and assuming good faith allows you and me to come up with a neutral article together. You could have looked for the sources yourself too instead of just taking my sources away. Also most of your massacre series articles are still can easily be tagged with NPOV tags because most of them don’t give LTTE denials when there is such a denial to make them NPOV. Also what I am disappointed and ashamed is that we still need suddas to mediate to bring to even keel when you and I could have easily done by ourselves by assuming good faith. You automatically assume I am doing LTTEs' bidding when I write about these massacres. I don’t care as to what they think, infact their war is why we have these massacres to begin with but that is besides the point that democratic government(s) have allowed this to happen to a part of their population. I know there were horrific massacres of Sinhalese people during the first and second JVP insurrections. But no body writes about them. But I will after I am done with the Tamil series. ASnyway I am done arguing with you for today:)) Sianora.RaveenS
