Hi! I'd love some help on making this more quality. This is the first time I've ever created a page and I thought I had written it in a NPOV (I read Wiki all the time so I thought I got it). I know I struggled with how to properly cite within the text itself (I don't understand code and I didn't see a shortcut in the bar) but I know the information I shared was accurate. Help please? A couple things, some of the sources themselves are not really reliable, specifically the Daily Mail and Reddit. I would first look for sources that are considered reliable for the article. Second, I'm not sure if this murder is notable enough for an article in itself. It was big news around here locally for sure, but I don't recall seeing a larger story about it overall. It's gotten some national play here and there. Personally, I find it interesting enough and true crime fans in my life sure are curious. Regardless, does that mean it can't have its own article? I can remove Daily Mail and Reddit. Any other notes? Itsmeblondie90 (talk) 20:33, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure if it passes our notability guidelines over all. However, I could be wrong on that too. What I'd recommend, since it is a draft, is find good sources for this article first of all. That's going to be a big factor. Also, the language is a bit non-neutral. For example the Background section has "She's been described by a friend as "a fighter" who was working hard to raise her children. In her free time, Rachel loved listening to music, reading, exercising and dancing. She was a spiritual person and found strength in her faith. Rachel kept up with her fitness would walk the Ma and Pa Trail regularly." Almost all of that is not needed. You could say "She would walk the Ma and Pa Trail regularly." but drop the part about being a "fighter" and what she did in her free time. That's stuff that isn't encyclopedic. Ahhhh good note. I could have sworn I've seen similar lines quoting others and describing their likes in prior articles but I'm picking up what you're throwing down. Thanks for your help! 173.49.0.64 (talk) 01:28, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: The Murder of Rachel Morin (November 2) edit

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Qcne was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Does not pass WP:NCRIME. I'd recommend adding something to the existing Ma_and_Pa_Trail article. Thousands of people get murdered every year, this is just not a notable event.
