Speedy deletion nomination of My First Article

edit

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Removing Speedy at My First Article

edit

Hi there Itemssnake123! I saw that you added a {{hangon}} tag to a page which you created, My First Article. This is good, but in the process you removed the tag requesting deletion under CSD G2. Even though there is a hangon on the page, the deletion template should remain there. But don't worry, this doesn't mean that the page is going to get deleted. Make sure you edit the talk page of the page nominated for deletion, located at Talk:My First Article, administrators will look at your reason why the page should remain before they decide what to do. Thanks - SDPatrolBot (talk) 11:16, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your first article has been moved to the above title. You can fiddle about with it to your heart's content now. Just don't recreate it in the article mainspace, please. Thanks. :) – B.hoteptalk11:27, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. i THINK THERE WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING, THAT EDIT WASN'T VANDALISM, BUT A REPORT OF A VANDAL PUTTING A DELETE THING ON MY PAGE

Slow down

edit

Please let us help you. Let's discuss what you want to do here on your talk page. So far, what you are doing is disruptive. You'll be blocked if you don't slow down and let us help you. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 11:33, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to User talk:Sesu Prime. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Pmlineditor  Talk 11:34, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I want to create an article, as i did at My New Article I want to avoid it being vandalized with deletion requests. Eventually ,when i ocme up with something worth writing about , i wil lflesh out the article into something more directly useful, but I won't have the chance if it gets deleted. how was creating a new article disruptive/ i thought that was the point of a wiki?

Unfortunately, you can't do that. If you want to just create an article and test how things work, do it on User:Itemssnake123/My First Article. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 11:37, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I moved your article to your userspace. Why aren't you editing it instead of arguing and causing disruption? I've got the feeling this isn't your first time, and you know more than you are letting on... – B.hoteptalk11:38, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Slow down a little, please. We like to have new contributors, and we appreciate new articles, but new articles must meet certain standards and will be deleted if they are not appropriate encyclopedic material. It is not vandalism to request the deletion of such articles, it's a normal method of maintaining the quality of the encyclopedia. You might want to read advice on your first article. Advice

edit

I understand that you're new here and seem to be confused about whats going on with your article, so I'm here to explain things, please listen to me because if you continue with your current behaviour you'll end up blocked. This is a serious encyclopedia, not a playground, its all very well wantiong to have your first article, but it needs to be of actual encyclopedic value, it needs to be about a real, notable subject, with plenty of references. Your first article was quite rightly deleted because it was clearly just your way of testing things, the best place to do that is at WP:Sandbox.--Jac16888Talk 11:39, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

what does moved to my namespace mean? it seems to make it so typing the name in search doesn't get me there anymore

hmm ok ill look at the advice thing, sorry if i caused a disruption, just trying to get an article up and running if i can :S

Why don't you just read the message I posted on the top of this page. --MrStalker (talk) 11:41, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

will do, got in a bit of a rage and overlooked that, sorry : /

Your namespace means the page is part of your sort of subspace, your personal storage area, the first article you created was moved there, its now at User:Itemssnake123/My First Article. Its great that you want to help and create an article but theres no point doing so if you don't have a subject. What I suggest you do is read some of the pages in the welcome message at the top, have a play around in the sandbox, and then try some editing of some pages about subjects you're interested in, just small things to start with, spelling mistakes and generally tidying, that should help you get a good start--Jac16888Talk 11:45, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

hmm alright, thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Itemssnake123/My First Article

A tag has been placed on User:Itemssnake123/My First Article requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
