License tagging for Image:JockMacdonald.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:JockMacdonald.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

{{helpme}}

I need help. I added a photo of Jock Macdonald, and I realize I don't have a copyright tag. But when I go to the website to see/get the copyright tag..there is none! So I don't know what to do...should I just take down the photo?

Thanks :)

well since it has no valid licences and since it can't be deleted by you, you should tag the image as {{db-author}} and it will be eventually deleted by an admin :)..--Cometstyles 22:11, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}}

I am not sure how to give sources for my article. I have tried reading those help pages, but I can't seem to find it. There isn't anything written (well at least I can't seem to find it) of direct directions to give references/sources.

What I mean is, when I go to other Wikipedia articles, they have a "References" area at the bottom in which references are listed. So what code am I supposed to write in the "edit page" that will give an area like that in the "Jock Macdonald" article?

Also, are we only allowed to reference internet pages, or books as well?

Thank you very much :)

See..Wikipedia:References for more details..--Cometstyles 22:29, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:PaintingJockMacdonald.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:PaintingJockMacdonald.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
